Is Kirby Smart the second coming of Mark Richt?

Allowing Justin Fields to get away will turn out to be a big misstep for Smart and even though there’s a ton of talent their numbers are eerily similar.

How is this evidence of him being the next Richt?

Only thing similar to Richt is the lack of hardware.

Allowing a Heisman contending qb to transfer while starting an average qb.

They’re relative, Richt was recruiting top 10 classes.

Justin Fields could not beat out Fromm. Neither could Eason. Georgia is such a popular location the Dawgs had 3 5 star QBs on their roster at one time. Justin wanted to be there so badly he came in spite of Fromm and Eason already being there. I wish him and Eason well. They were good Dawgs. Can’t blame them for transferring. They wanted to start and as long as Fromm was at UGA that wasn’t going to happen

top 10 is a far cry from 1 and 2

A poor effort in retrospect

Watching both qbs play, fields doesn’t look like he was given a good opportunity.

fields panicked in the pocket against good defenses. it will be interesting to see how much he has progressed in two weeks against a good sparty defense. hope he does well

Richt seemed every bit as impressive at this point of his career as Smart does now. It is worth noting that.
It wasn’t until 2008 (year 8) that you could sort of start having doubts about Richt.

If Kirby holds true to Richts stats, he’ll lose 2 + games this year.

richt was a phenomenal coach. he just lost the fire in his belly after awhile, so glad we have smart now

He got about 15 snaps per game. How many snaps do you need to give a backup to be sure if he is better than your starter?

Top 10 and top 5 is relative?
By the way, you know who Gus is similar to? Kevin Sumlin. Averaging 5 losses a year. the difference is, A&M did not give Sumlin a $49 million raise. They fired him.

Very much so.... With the talent Georgia has and the east as a very weak division they’ll always be around 10 wins.
