He is a great coach. But, better than Saban at this point? We don't have enough data. And, why do you even ask such a question?

Definitely. A much better X's & O's coach than little Nicky. CJM is going to light up the recruiting trail as well.

You have got to be joking. Saban had to build from the ground up. Cupboard was bare.

The only legit question to ask at this point is : “Has Jim McElwain done a better job THIS season than Saban?”

Maybe Jim McElwain will become a real good coach but at this point the level of achievements are not even in the same stratosphere. He has done a good job but pump the breaks in crowning him an all-time great at this point. Muschamps, The Gus Bus, Chizik all looked like geniuses at some point. Not much so right now.
