One city vs all of nw Arkansas? Seems a bit unfair. Both are great though.

You answer your own question.. and get the answer 100% wrong?

Since it's impossible to fix stupid, I'm not even going to try. Hopefully you're just another Misery meth head and can blame drugs. What a weird flex.

However, gf and I both noticed a lot of people smoking. Like noticeably more than we usually see in Texas. And then of course there was the coughing. Town is promoted as a place for healing it sounded like the entire place had emphysema. Still beautiful though.

So all those tourists, many from texas, come to hot springs to smoke and stink up the town and you blame it on the people who live there?

It’s a national park and people from all over the country come there. Pretty short sighted analysis.

Hot Springs was Vegas before Vegas got big.

A lot of mobsters from up North would use the town as a safe haven when it too heated in the big cities.

Yeah I remember being raised in Texarkana (New Boston actually) and Hot Springs was like the place where gamblin and partying and swangin took place. Not that I knew what any of that was, but I heard the grown-ups talk.

Many celebrities have performed at The Legendary Vapors in Hot Springs, Arkansas, including: Tony Bennett, Mickey Rooney, Edgar Bergen, Les Paul, The Smothers Brothers, Liberace, Rosemary Clooney, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Van Dyke, and Mitzi Gaynor. The Vapors was originally an upscale nightclub that opened in 1960. It was owned by Dane Harris and Owney Madden and was a popular spot during the city's illegal gambling era. The club featured a casino, coffee shop, theater restaurant, dance floor, and Monte Carlo Room. It was known for its crystal chandeliers, shag carpet, and mahogany bar.

I was born and raised in Hot Springs and there were gambling places around town that would be warned ahead of time if a raid was coming and the did a good job of hiding it. There was alot of corruption but the gambling brought a good bit of money to the community.

My dad told me he was at a Safeway store and he recognized the lady in front of him as Phyllis Diller without all the makeup. He said she was nice.

The Yankees used to hold their camp there and Babe Ruth hit one of his longest home runs in that park. A lot of cool history there including Al Capone and other gangsters.

The horse races and hot baths were a big draw as well.

Yes, all us Texans are coordinating trips to Hot Springs to puff on our ciggies.
