Be careful for what you wish for. Lane Kiffin would probably love to own Saban with Auburn.

Ain't happening.

Why would he go to a program where he's pretty much guaranteed to lose to Saban the first three years due to the talent gap?

Nah. Saban needed the Auburn RB running out of bounds to win last year. Could you imagine Harsin having a 1-0 record against Saban and getting fired?

Auburn would have to make Kiffin the highest paid coach in college football just to get him to answer the phone.

You enjoy watching until it might affect Ole Miss. Then you have a panic attack.

Watch once the rumors of Kiffin to AU start. Not saying it will happen, but the rumor alone will panic the Ole Miss fans.

I 100% believe Lane would leave for the state of Alabama - but it's not until Saban retires and he takes over in Tuscaloosa. Lane absolutely loves Oxford and is getting paid royally.

Some will due to ignorance. A lot of us also understand the unlikelihood of that, financially and non-financially.

Bill Clark to Auburn. That will be the absolute best they can do at this point.

I asked an Ole Miss fan yesterday but didn't get an answer: What is Lane's buyout on your end if he's hired away? I can't see Auburn affording a big buyout while still paying 2 former HCs.

They're going to win the battle of the dumpster fires this weekend.

I didn't think it was ever disclosed. A school would have to pay his buyout, and commit to at least $10 million per year to even have a conversation with him, considering his incentives push him upwards of $9 million based on various wins and such. Smart is the highest paid coach at $10.25 million. That's only the financial aspect. You also have to consider that he has low pressure, has built his transfer portal monster machine, has no dumpster fire to put out, no impatient boosters, access to the university jet (so he can be on his boat in Florida 2-3 hours), his daughter just moved in with him for the 1st time since his divorce, and he likes Oxford.

Why would he go to Auburn?

And these fricks are still going to claw and fight for every inch of turf with LSU and somehow win by two points
