Is a Mulkey/Staley hire more impactful than an Oats/Cal hire?

MBB doesn’t have a lot of up-side at most big schools. Maybe raise ticket prices a little. Arkansas was already filling a giant arena with a gay team.
Mulkey or Staley, for half the price, can take a sport that might be overlooked at certain schools and elevate it to the sky. They might put 8000 more butts in seats per game. LSU WBB was outselling men’s almost 2:1 this year.
Ultimately boosters will influence these decisions and a lot of ultra rich are more interested in new and exciting things than maintaining traditions.

WBB is all the rage yet their championship yesterday was during happy hour.
Men's is where the money is at.

And they still lose money. LSU won a national championship last year in WBB and still lost something like $7Mil.
