And how long did that take? Sure you caught lightening in a bottle twice, but there is absolutely nothing special about Alabama that makes them somehow entitled to winning.

They are the same as any other top tier program.

And now you are in an era where you can be flat out outspent. Legally.

What is this reasonable post?!

(I think you are absolutely right and that is perfectly in line with expectations for a top tier program). Alabama will get that done.

Everybody keeps talking shite about the defense but they're the only reason Bama is in playoff contention.

Alabama will lose to Auburn. It's just going to happen and even the biggest sunshine pumper knows it deep down, and don't give me the crap about yardage and turnovers against OU. There are demonstrable trends of the team regressing since the Tennessee game if not earlier. That's coaching. It's probably for the best because if they somehow get by Auburn, getting blown off the field by A&M will be painful. Then a loss to another Big 10 team in the Camping Bowl or whatever it's called now. No thanks.

While I was wrong about the outcomes, I was ultimately right about a lot there:

-Saban's last few years were wasted with unqualified hires like Golding, Tosh, Bill O'Brien, etc. IIRC he even admitted one of the reasons he retired is because he couldn't attract quality assistants anymore.
-Tua was basically anointed as the second coming of Christ after 2nd and 26 and ultimately couldn't handle the pressure, mentally or physically. I still don't think Saban knew how to handle such a talented player.
-Saban probably should have retired after 2nd and 26. "But 2020" you say. Half empty stadiums all year, a title game against a team that had played half a season. Would it have been the same result without Covid? Maybe. But anybody could have coached that team to a title that year. Hell, even Ed Orgeron,

I want Bama to beat Auburn, but I fear for Bama.

They are better, but Jordan Hair is cursed. Cursed, I'll tell ya.

Bama better beware.

Godspeed.

And all of this is happening while Alabama is staring at the possibility of missing the expanded playoff for the second straight season — something their fanbase never thought they’d see again.
How did L-S-Who do in the playoffs last year? How you think they're going to do this year?

24 years.

And in the intervening time we won three SEC titles and a national championship. Not great, not terrible.
