In three years time would you bet Kiffin has more wins or the field?....

Meaning one of the other non big name coaches just hired has more and you win the bet.

I'd assume the better odds are taking the field in that scenario given how many new coaches there would be and there's at least a slight chance Kiffin does a BK.

Would be interesting to look back, but I would guess you would have won the same bet by taking Brian Kelly against the field.

How many wins does the emotional destruction of 3 fanbases count for?

Against other new coaches only? Taking Kiffin if we are talking P4 coaches only. Could see a G5 coach having a couple more wins due to easier schedule at a place like Tulane.

Against sitting coaches? Hell no

I'd have to look at who was hired and where, but maybe so.

I guess that'd be Kelly vs. Napier. Who else came in for 2022? I mean if it's just one vs. one, of course you'd take Kelly just like you would take Lane vs. Sumrall.

The other "top" hires I recall in that time frame were Lincoln Riley, Mel Tucker, Billy Napier. Maybe someone else I forget. Basically all the candidates who other fanbases claimed would have been better hires all flamed out elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure Lanning kicked Kelly's arse.

Mel was in 2021.

Definitely, but I don't recall anyone mentioning him as a candidate for the LSU job.

I wasn't meaning they had to be a candidate for LSU. Just would you take the field of new coaches or Kiffin.

I actually just meant the SEC. Kelly probably won that if it's just in conference.

But Kiffin would have way more competition this time in numbers. And at least two at programs that have won at a very high level in the past.

I will take whoever Penn State hires. If they are decent they will probably only have two hard games all year.

So who wins the most games over the next few years?

Kiffin or the field (Silverfield, Golding, Sumrall, Golesh).

Mathematically, I would guess the field would almost certainly be favored, but I would feel pretty comfortable betting on Kiffin there.
