I'm so glad we rid of McElwain now.

With getting rid of McElwain now, we can jump ahead of all of the likes of Tennessee, Arkansas, and A&M.

That's huge. Considering we're a bigger destination for coaches and now we're putting ourselves out there in the market and coaches looking for promotion are on notice.

Sorry, Vols&Shaft, you're stuck with Butch.

Are you, though?

Meyer wanted out.
Now McElwain wants out.

I think Florida is getting into its own way a bit. This situation hasn't improved for the gators, yet. We will have to see the next move.

I'd rather A&M and Tennessee over Florida

I wouldn't want Kelly or Frost at UF. Kiffin is intriguing, although as an opposing fan I'd like to see him in Gainesville for the off the field fun.

Stricklin said he would wait till the end of the year before talking with coaches currently coaching teams. Unless the new HC is Stoops or Kelly I don’t think there will be that big of a jump. But I think the job being open now will make us one of the first to hire a new head coach.

What does that mean? That you have found ways to run off coaches instead of firing them?

How does this affect the early signing period and recruiting class?

Who might be the first to slow their commitment?

Far shots in dark are Kelly and Gundy. Gundy has too big a buy out, but Kelly if we offered...I see little reason for him to not come here. Don't think we will though.

Mullen won't happen. AD's in the SEC have a kind of agreement to not hire away head coaches. Just don't see it happening.

Frost is the clear favorite for it.
Campbell will get a hard look(he would be an insanely good hire)
Norvell is rumored but I'd lose it if we hired him.
Smart is a candidate for sure.

End of day. I think it's between Frost and Campbell.

Jim Tessel or Art Briles would gladly sign a no buyout contract.

Why do people keep mentioning Frost.

He's going to Nebraska. Nothing to see

The thing about Kelly, which I think people forget, is the NCAA penalties he left Oregon with. I think that keeps UF from offering him.

frick I hope y'all don't nab Frost.

Because he played there? That is literally the only arrow pointing to him going to Nebraska. Every other aspect of the decision points to a school like UF.
