We dated for about 3 weeks when I got the "I need space" talk. So I, being a nice guy, gave it to her. But she used that space to hang out with her ex boyfriend.
We end up going to the North Texas game together, then going out afterwards. She comes home with me, and we're laying in bed, and she gets a call. She says "This is bad, but I have to take this." She comes back 20 minutes later. I ask "So who was that?" It was her ex. I was pissed, but idiotically didn't kick her out of my house.
Then she comes back, after needing "space" saying "You were right, he's an a-hole, I want to work things out with you, etc".
So, me being nice again, agree to try to work things out, even after she had been shitty to me. I try really hard, taking her to lunch/dinner, visiting her at work (she's a bartender), and generally being nice.
We meet up at the Vandy game, and walk back to my house. I was in a bad mood, because I had to work in the morning up until the game on the Strip, then she bailed as my date, then my backup date bailed, and she took an hour to find where I was sitting. So I wasn't happy, and she was being bitchy because I wasn't in a good mood. So after awhile, I just ask "So what the frick do you want from this?" And she just says she wants to date casually, like going out every once in awhile. I say that that's not an option, and she gets mad and says she needs to go meet her friends at the bar.
The next day she texts me, saying "wanna get lunch?" I tell her no, she asks why, I explain why, and somehow I'm the a-hole.

I wish I had known what I was getting myself into before we started.
