If LSU beats Arkansas and Oklahoma State manages to handle OU, then 1-2-3 would be LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma State. LSU would be an obvious in leaving voters to choose between SEC West runner-up Alabama and Big 12 Champion Oklahoma State. Is this not an obvious choice? Oklahoma State already has the edge in the computers as it is.

It's not an obvious choice because most LSU fans on this site don't understand the BCS formula any better than they claim Bama fans do.

Okie State's #4 BCS ranking is due to a solid #2 rating in the computers and a solid #6 ranking among the voters. The computers are the ONLY reason Okie State is as high as it is. Okie State would likely require mostly #3 ratings among the voters with several #2 ratings among the voters as well to overtake Alabama's spot at #2 in the overall rankings. It could definitely happen but it will be very difficult if Va Tech and Stanford win out.

Oklahoma State is presently ranked #6 in both the Harris and the Coaches Poll. 2/3 of the BCS are done by the humans.

You dont think they jump up once Arky loses and they beat a top 10 team? They are currently 4 in the BCS...

Right, but factor in a loss by Arkansas and the fact that they play one of the relatively few games against the #8 or higher team at that point and that creates a lot of support. They're likely to move up to #4 by default at least, and there are lot of people that don't like the rematch idea. This is easily enough for the voters to make the move.

fair

If the situation was COMPLETELY REVERSED, you'd have the same number of LSU fans clamoring for a rematch and the same number of Alabama fans stating that it wouldn't be "fair" to have to beat LSU twice.

These are the BCS rules. Most likely Alabama will be #2. The BCS has had years to put in stipulations about conference champions and what not, but they chose not to do so. They only care about matching #1 vs #2.

They'll jump Arkansas if they lose but they'll also split a lot of 3rd, 4th, and 5th place votes with Va Tech and Stanford if those 2 teams win out. It's very important that one or both of Va Tech and Stanford lose.

If Auburn plays Bama tough and Okie St beats OU by more than 10 or so I think it could very well happen

If LSU lost at home, I would say let another team get a shot. But Bama fans seem to think they are entitled to everything. Now, if we would have lost at BDS, Id be saying lets settle it on a neutral field.

This is the correct answer.

If VT and Stanford win out, it's nearly impossible for OSU to jump Alabama.

If both VT and Stanford lose, then I would almost guarantee that OSU jumps Alabama.

If one loses, then it's going to be all kind of crazy.

I officially DO NOT CARE anymore, as long as LSU is in the MNCG, they will beat whoever is the most deserving of the undeservings.

I can see it going both way. Either we get Bama and handle them in our backyard, or we get OSU and we handle them.

As far as the argument that they are 6 in the human polls and can't jump to number 2 well 2007 LSU says hello. We were 7 and after winning our conference jumped to 2. So if OSU wins out they technically are their conference champ so I can definantly see it happening.

Now on to the rematch. I really wouldn't want to play Bama because they are the only team that can give LSU a run, but I'm sure the team can care less. If the 2 best teams are supposed to play I have to say it would be LSU/Bama again but if the voters have their say I don;t know if it will happen. If anyone thinks that they would allow the rematch if there is any way they could avoid it then you need more help than anyone here can give.

SHHHHHH! Don't tell Bammers this; their self inflated egos are too sensitive. Only way I for certain see a rematch is if OSU shites the bed against OU.

If LSU wins (even by 1 point) against Arky and OSU beats OU, lotsa gumps are gonna be real uneasy going into that final BCS poll before the bowl games. I think a lot of your voters are going to give OSU a real hard look in an attempt to avoid the rematch and an all SEC Title game.
