No, personally I'd rather lose Tennessee. But I really don't wanna lose either game. And no matter what these folks tell you, unless Bama goes to the east, we are going to lose one or both.

What if Mizzou came in and went to the East? You would still play Auburn and Tennessee every year. I know putting them in the east wouldnt make the most sense geographically but it sure would save a lot of traditional matchups.

I just highly doubt that Slive and Co. are stupid enough to do away with either one of Bama/Auburn or Bama/Tenn when they dont need to. Would be STUPID not to throw Mizzou in the east.

No way that happens, Missouri folks would pitch a fit having to travel that far. Both for fan and recruiting purposes.

The nearest team in the east to Mizzou is 431 miles away.

And that's Vandy which is farther west than Auburn is. Missouri to the east is ridiculous.

And the closest opponent to college station (Baton Rouge) is 350 miles and the second closest (Fayeteville) is over 500 miles. It's really not enough of a difference to justify breaking up some traditional rivalry games. Good lord you b*tch a lot.

Who cares if its ridiculous...

put MizzWHO in the east. Nobody really wants them anyway, so who cares if they bitch about travel, and their recruiting argument will fall on deaf ears because nobody really believes any good recruit would go to Columbia, MO in the first place

Mizzou borders Kentucky and Tennessee... which are both East teams, thats a good enough reason for me!!!

Who cares if they bitch, they are lucky to end up here in the first place. The A&Ms and MizzWHOs are the teams who should make the sacrifices, as they are the ones screwing everything up. Not the SEC teams who built this conference to what it is. If Mizzou wants in they can be in the East, b/c Bama is not scrapping the 3rd Saturday in October for an annual matchup with Missouri, at least not without a fight

I'm sure the Vols feel the same way, as Alabama is their ONLY cross-division rival (and prob their biggest rival overall). If Bama has to drop TN, then the Vols will end up with either A&M or Mizzou as their permanent cross division "rival"... and they surely wont put up with that

And FWIW, I think a 9 game SEC schedule is coming, there are no two ways around it

NATIDEfan- Nothing is ever going to work out for you, you've made up your mind that you're going to whine regardless of what happens like a menstruating woman so you might as well just commit seppuku and end it all. Good lord.

for the first time ever I agree with Sherwood

Let them bitch. NOBODY is close to Columbia, MO... in the East or the West. Its a plane ride and then probably an additional bus ride (is there an airport in Columbia MO?) no matter where you are coming from

wahhh wahhh, take it up with Slive you fricking pussies...

Everyone is benefiting...And guess what, I couldn't give two shits about the rivalry going on in that illiterate state of Alabama.

We owe you nothing. You're benefiting greatly from this move...If the neanderthals littering this board with unintelligible opinions had half the brains of Slive et al., you'd STFU with all this petulant whining regarding 4% of our student body and dry your fricking eyes.

You degenerates currently have better football programs...If you expect me or any self respecting Aggie to somehow concede that your football record entitles you to some kind of homage on behalf of Aggies, than you're more delusional than the posts on this thread.

Understand this: in your lifetime, your children's lifetime, and their children's lifetime, nothing coming from the collective plebeian minds in the state of Alabama will represent a scintilla of what our school and state offer.

We come in with an open mind. Whatever treatment you see from us will be reflective of what we see from you.

Oh frick.

If the SEC benefits financially from ATM, it won't be much. How much more revenue will ATM bring in versus the average SEC team? Not much. Now divide that by 13. That $4 is what we're benefiting at the possible cost of traditions that have lasted a hundred years. On top of that, we have your shitty football team bringing down our strength of schedule, and we have to listen to you dumb fricks act like arkansas for however long it takes for reality to set in.

I have to agree with this post. I can see many issue's that will have to be hammered out with the expansion. I just can't see loosing the old traditions games. Expansion may not be that great of an ideal after all.

not to mention the male cheerleaders and cheer practice and milkmen and just overall embarrassing nature of the entire A&M program and culture

Now whenever we argue with Big Ten or Pac 12 fans, they'll throw A&M fans in our face... they male cheerleaders will seriously be a hit on our street cred nationally

No other school in the SEC has as much dollar value as A&M except for maybe Florida. There are 24 million people in Texas and 2 of the 3 largest markets in the SEC. A&M will increase the value of the SEC TV contract by around 40% by itself. That's more than a few dollars.

Reports immediately following the announcement of A&M’s acceptance into the SEC today stated ESPN would be increasing rights fees to allow SEC members to receive at least the same compensation they would have received prior to A&M’s addition.

ETA: as I've said before, your market covers your own arse, it doesn't bring the SEC a whole lot of extra money.

Also, BS.

Looks like aTm would be 7th in the SEC.

8th, by a long shot.

Florida, LSU, Bama, UT, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina all make more. And they only beat out Kentucky by 800 thousand.
