If they make it, fine, but they don't deserve anything. This years Alabama team has done nothing to deserve a shot. They were outplayed by their two toughest opponents and had an incredibly weak schedule.

I agree with SBC. Oregon (who's played a far tougher schedule than 'Bama and LSU combined) and LSU (despite losing to Florida and an undeserving Alabama team, along with getting out-played by Ole Miss and Auburn) are far more deserving. lulz Fact.

You were outplayed by all standards in baton rouge. Your head coach said as much and I think he knows the game. Lsu dominated every statistical category. All of them. You won the game, but you were outplayed. You had 2 games this year against quality teams and you were not the better team on the field in either contest. This is not last years alabama team. This team is extremely flawed. That is why this years team doesn't "deserve" a damn thing.

quote:It was 14-3 at half. How can you say we were outplayed by all standards when we were clearly outplaying you guys there? The second half was bad, but like I said, y'all were the better team for 28 minutes and we were the better team for 32 minutes.

Ask your coach. He said it.

Damn right. The best team deserves to play for the title.

Right. Which is why the BCS is getting scrapped for a playoff. Because the best team often doesn't get a chance to play for the title.

All of this is irrelevant at the moment. Let's wait and see how the rest of the season plays out. Let's see who wins the SEC and if Notre Dame gets by USC. USC looks to have packed it in and Barkley might be hurt, but I'll take the talent of USC's backups against Pitt's starters most days.
Also, all of the LSU fans are ridiculous with their butthurt over teams "backing" into the national championship. LSU is the only team to make a BCS championship with 2 losses, and the week of losses that got them there was even crazier than last night. LSU's other BCS championship was a split championship where LSU also lost at home to a Florida team that would finish with a worse record than Texas A&M will this year. Was it the timing of LSU's loss that helped them there? Or do the computers give credit to the SEC for playing a tougher schedule than the then Pac 10 and now Pac 12? Did LSU not deserve to be in either of those games?

The best team did get to play in the bcscg that year. Now, it's debatable whether the 2nd best team got to play USC. I would say that the best has played in the game every year.

I agree that the best team has gotten to play in the BCS championship every year. I don't think Auburn was beating USC in 2004, but it doesn't mean that they shouldn't have gotten the chance to try. Hopefully, the playoff system will resolve some of these discrepancies; but new problems or controversy will show up.

How come FL is not ahead of bama? They both beat LSU and UF beat A&M at their place. Their only loss is to the #3 team in the BCS. If they beat FSU, they deserve it as much as bama. Last proved you do not have to win your division.
