Well, old-timer, times have changed. If you have a job, you can get a car, period. I understand you are likely stuck back in time around the 1960's or so because that is when you came up but, it's not like that any longer.
Also, just about anyone working at a menial job can also get a car for their child, if needed. Join the modern world, gramps.
Blacks can even own their own homes nowadays. I'm not joking; it's real.

For a long arse time it's been that way. You see when recruits make those pictures with them flashing money? That's from when they were cashing Pell Grant checks, which they were still eligible for.
They get money for personal expenses like a clothing budget, transportation and so forth.
Players also get money for food, apartments off campus(usually those with families, or upper classmen but it depends on the school).
It was about $20k 15 years ago. That was before the stipend which was just straight $5k in cash.
Players who come from money don't get as many benefits. They don't qualify for the Pell Grants etc.
The study I read about it was a long time ago, I don't know where it was.
And again, they are still eligible for student loans.
The cars player drive is one of the most heavily monitored thing by ALL schools. This ain't the 1980s. They ain't gonna let the program get fricked over because of a car.

Saban never cheated, ever. He was the cleanest college football coach to likely walk the sidelines, possibly in the history of the sport.

I never once said Pell Grants pay for vehicles, what I said was the money players often flashed was just people cashing Pell Grant checks.
