This is actually a pretty good script. Most of my friends already know that if they plan a wedding on a Saturday during football season, to not expect me to be in attendance.

For those who do not already know, this seems like a good way to break the news.

Anyone who schedules a wedding on a Saturday during football season deserves to have nobody show up to their wedding.

Anyone who schedules their wedding during football season deserves the death penalty...and a sea of empty chairs at the wedding and the reception.

Only exception to this would be to get hitched pregame, reception would be during tailgating and the honeymoon would start at kickoff. And all guests would be given tickets to the game, of course. Actually that sounds like the perfect wedding imho.

As long as the groom puts his foot down and demands a minimum of 4 TV's to be at the reception hall and your team is playing away then you should be able to go to the wedding.

I hate weddings, so with few exceptions I just don't go to them period.

My wife's best friend from college planned her wedding the weekend of the '98 UT-Florida game. My wife was in the wedding. I told her to have fun. Seeing the Vols win that OT game was so worth the week I slept on the couch.

Not attend but watch one of my favorite games of the year each year, Alabama-LSU, I had a wedding in Memphis at same time as the 2008 overtime game.

This year, I have a wedding in New Orleans on Friday prior to our game with Arkansas. Very unlikely that I will feel like driving from NO to Starkville regardless of the Saturday game time.

I have missed a bunch of weddings due to football but some, I just suck it up and go to the wedding.

My mother in law is getting married (for the 4th time) next Saturday. I'm missing out on a Dove Hunt in the morning and football in the afternoon.

I tried to tell my wife my feelings on going to this wedding, but got shot down instantly with reminders of all the crap she's had to go to for my side of the family. You might be judging me, don't care.

The 3rd marriage was doomed from the start and we weren't even invited to that one. I think it lasted less than a year. I'm honestly not sure why they're rushing into this one. He is recently divorced and was actually still married to his ex when he proposed to my MIL. No reason to do this in the fall.

I have to attend a wedding Saturday as well... Dipping out halfway thru the reception to watch the game.

Definitely in the minority here, but gimme a fall wedding any day over a summer wedding.

I can't stand being in a suit in 120 degree weather.

Also, with smart phones now days, it's not a big deal.
