As much as I would love to see it, I'm pretty sure we won't beat them that bad haha. That would be, like you said, disastrous for their program. It should be a good game, until the 4th quarter when Ingram/Richardson/Lacy/Goode/Griffin take over

I wonder how many games the current "streak" will last...and how many barner meltdowns we get to witness. When they finally do beat us, I wonder if they'll manage to crush us like we did to them, or if it'll be a close game. To snap their streak the way Bama did, with 36 unanswered points...damn I don't want that to happen to us.

Once again, there's a difference between a normal onside, and the "sneak attack" version Auburn pulled.

Doing something when the other team isn't expecting it is good strategy.

Either way, there is definitely a place for onside kicks in the game. But some of them just seem more of a "pussy move" than others. Auburn really didn't have anything to lose at the time, hence all the shenanigans they were willing to do.

Ingram throwing out of the wild cat, fake punt against Texas, reverses, flea flicker TD to Julio, etc could all be considered "pussy moves" based on this logic. A play-action is shenanigans because you're not announcing that you're throwing the ball. You're trying to trick the defense in to believing it's a run.

If you fail on an onside kick and Bama goes and scores, then you're going to hear about it until the next Iron Bowl. It isn't a pussy move it all. You're risking losing a game on one stupid call in some cases.

Auburn made some good calls with the reverse and the onside kick during the Iron Bowl. Chiz coached a good game and made some gambles that almost won the game. It makes no sense to knock the guy for calling a good game. If he had lined up and been predictable, then the game probably would not have been close. Kudos to Chiz and I'm glad we got a tough win on the road.

Me too, but I don't think we'll doing it quite like that for a while. There's a reason that was the most lopsided score since 1962 (even Bear didn't beat Barfield that bad). On a more interesting note, from 1959-62, we pitched 4 straight shut outs against auburn!
