In all honesty Auburn's plan to stop it was…be bigger and faster than their oline.
Exactly! Iron Puppet you know why Auburn's offense was so damn hard to stop last year? It was hard to dominate that strong O-line.

It starts with the QB.

How can anyone have USC in 05 over Texas? Are you saying Texas would lose in the semifinal? Cause if you have USC and Texas in the national title game, it's Texas. We saw that one play out. Less preparation for USC against Texas wouldn't be a factor, if anything you think it would be an advantage for Texas.

Logically the only years there should be a change is if you have a different national title game set up, or if you think less preparation would have affected the outcome of the title game.

USC would've won with replay.

But there wasn't replay. The scenario is if there were as a four team playoff, all else being the same, who wins?

Texas beat USC. USC couldn't stop Vince at all.

ETA - Looking back, that Texas defense was LOADED.

Facts have a way of doing that.

Didn't they give up 38 points against USCw? West coast ideas of a loaded defense.

2008 USC vs Florida would be legit. Florida would win, but it would be legit.

So you were the better team before the Sugar Bowl, right? Because that's the only way this argument of yours is even plausible.

Eastern divison champion and a head to head win looks way better on a resume.

True but if this is the case, once again Bama doesn't make the field in 2011.

Oregon's offense is not that difficult to stop so everyone needs to quit saying it is. LSU stopped it, Auburn stopped it, Stanford stops it every year so stop it with the Oregon's offense shite. Blow their asses off the line, like power teams do, and they fold like a maid. Bama would be Oregon easy. Oh and Bama's secondary was weak in 13, but in 11 it was really strong, less strong in 2012 but no where near weak.

Yeah you guys sure dominated the last spread team you played, I mean you tied them until Saban gumped it up but still.

They were going against perhaps the only offense in college football history to feature the last two seasons' Heisman trophy winners.
