We will never be "equal" to ole miss, nor will they ever be "equal" to us. Ever. And regarding the long term history, even though State has pulled slightly ahead in the last several years, the 2 AD's are pretty much neck-and-neck with each other, and probably always will be because of the ignorance of so many of the 2 fanbases and alumni:

While we are all Mississippians (or at least were for a time) with many shared points in our worldview (and, obviously, many that are not), we are 2 totally separate fanbases and schools in nearly every way imaginable.

The sooner the ole miss and State homers realize this, the sooner the 2 schools can have a more Auburn-Alabama'esque approach to each other: where a healthy hatred AND respect for each other will allow the two schools to see a greater level of success and, therefore, respect. (Obviously, based on current facts and conditions and regarding the auburn-bama comparison above, ole miss would/has taken up position as the former while State is clearly the latter of two. I digress.)

At the current rate (i.e., last 65 years) what makes ole miss better makes state better- and vice versa. Unfortunately (Or fortunately?) the level at which one or the other peaks is where they both shall peak. Don't believe me? Refer to 2014.

I often ponder the results if our state had only one SEC school. Regardless of the w/l column, one thing is for sure: we would have a NASTY baseball program and a brutal, cut-you-to-your-core chit talking fanbase, second-to-none.

FTR I theorize that Kiffin knows what's on the line and will behave himself (word has it that he is a changed man). Meaning, he knows that he must show stability in his character and in his program in order to move up to a bigger gig; because that's what schools like ole miss and state are: very capable career stepping stones. To our credit, the fact that we aren't always guaranteed career killers like A&M, AR, Mizzou, etc., is testament enough to our potential and the caliber of programs and of the coaches we have potential to attract and be.

Unless they cheat again, LK cannot turn ole miss into a world beater, as long as recruiting matters in NCAACF. That said, if he has matured, then he will stabilize the program and that alone will bring success- something ole miss badly needs some of.

And just like David slaying goliath more than anybody has (i.e., Auburn beating Bama), neither State nor ole miss is guaranteed to be bitch slapping one or the other, regardless of how their season is going:

Exhibit A is Plumlee whipping LSU's arse up and down the field and making your defense his bitch, and then mOoStAtE running his arse off the field by the 4th quarter. Rivalries matter.

(I realize The University of Louisiana doesn't have the same capability to bring that type of heated competition to the table with louisiana state due to their different placement in college football power rankings, and so I'll give you a mulligan here.)

Of course I wouldn't expect you to understand all of this and DEFINITELY not your dudebro #1 account that you lost your password to lol!!! But thx for reading nyway lol haha!!
