Elko ignored the noise about keeping Reed as his starter even though Reed commanded the team to 4 wins (Arkansas, Florida, Bowling Green and McNeese). Elko reinserted Weigmann as the starter even though Weigmann struggled against Notre Dame in the first game because I think Elko realized it was the first game and Notre Dame has an elite defense. Everyone of Notre Dame's starters in their secondary will play in the NFL. I also believe Elko recognized a competent passing QB will always be more of a threat than a QB who is solely a runner and inconsistent/bad passer.

Contrast that with what's going on at Bama. It's still controversial to debate if Milroe should be benched even though he is the main reason Bama has lost two games and should've lost to South Carolina. Milroe has simply fell apart as a passer and now he's a reluctant runner. If DeBoer starts Milroe against Missouri I will have my proof that DeBoer isn't a leader and is allowing the players to run the program.

I am a LSU fan so take this with a grain of salt I don't watch every Alabama game but I have seen enough. Milroe is not a good QB and never has been. He does have a strong arm and can run like the wind but is wildly inconsistent passing. You can an win with him but you need a great OL then he can be a effective passer and was when your line was good. Your line currently is not good that is your biggest issue. Your WR's outside of the freshman are not good. Your defense isn't helping either, they are not playing well which is baffling considering I know you have talent. But the biggest is coaching is helping Milroe, they are not leaning on his strengths.

The OL looks like shite partly because defenses don't respect Milroe to make them pay if they pressure Milroe. Milroe can't hit a hot route or run RPO.

You are actually praising Elko for the wrong QB swap. He benched Weigman first. The whole shoulder issue was fake to keep the heat off of Weigman from the press and fans.

He did that so Weigman could iron some things out. Once Weigman showed Elko he was ready mentally, Elko went back with him. But don’t be surprised if he switches back to Reed if Weigman starts having the yips again.

First of all he beat UGA so there’s that but I do see your point about him being reluctant to run now. Sometimes I wonder if something like that is coaching where he’s being told to stay in the pocket and look downfield more. I say that because I see that same reluctance in him.

To another poster’s point Williams is his main target, he’s locking on and telegraphing that. My guess is the Bama OC needs to get more receivers involved.

As an LSU fan, I will allow my Pay Pal to be molested repeatedly this week if you assure me we face Reed and not Weigman.

100% Simpson should get playing time. And if the players who don't want to support their team mate, they can walk.

Is Elko a better hire than Saban? Saban tried to bench Milroe last year. Nearly got the second and third string qbs killed when the offensive line quit during the USF game.
