The big difference is that we aren't having to excuse Henry's performances, ever.

If you believe that Henry is actually running the ball 25-46 times in practice against Alabamas first string defense with each side going at full game speed and strength, then I don't know what to tell you.

If there's no "excuses" made for Henry, why only 52 yards against ULM??

Henry faced 6 defenses ranked in the top 50 nationally. Stanford faced 3.

The common opponent argument is all LSU fans are clinging to. It's splattered all over the board. The numbers in SEC play, Power 5 play, FBS winning play, ranked-opponents play all overwhelmingly favor DH. Not to mention his numbers against a really good Wiscy team.

Yeah, Fournette is a better RB. We know this.

Booger isn't deserving of being invited to NY or first team AA but he's better.

Correct.

You forget two things. Fournette played in two less games, and how the Heisman is perceived. It doesn't go to the best player, which is why Henry will probably win. Fournette has over 1900 total yards with two less games.

You'll not have another winner who's not in the playoffs.

Playing against Christian will frick up anybody's defensive ranking. This bolsters the argument for Ed's boy.

Fournette played a lot easier OOC schedule though.

I'm not going to read the entire thread, but let's just accept that the Heisman hasn't been some sort of pure "best player in the country" award since the leather cap era when nobody had watched any player except ones on their own team or on teams their own team played against. And then you were likely to see the latter only once.

The Heisman is, and pretty always has been, an award for dominant players on great teams. The players usually can lay a claim to being one of the best -- and this year is no different -- but nobody except people who do it for a living watches every game of every major player and offers details and insightful analysis. That's just the nature of the beast, and until people stop pretending otherwise, somebody will always be butthurt about the whole thing.

Personally, I think they should just remember that Charlie Ward won it. That's all anyone needs to understand.

Three rent a wins vs two? How is that a tougher OOC schedule?
