Florida fans didn't know who Tom Petty was until he died. They had to put the lyrics on the jumbotron that season so they could sing along.

The Florida fans seemed to be pretty good natured about it, double bird guy included.

Whoever thought to do that. Thank you. That song sucks and I hate we made it a "tradition". Hope we get rid of it one day.
