They have sent some very good teams into Athens over the last 15 years. It amazes me they haven't won there since 2005. I remember a long streak where the home team couldn't buy a win in that series.

Nobody should question why Auburn fired Gus. It was pretty clear it was time. I really believe y'all stuck with him as long as you could. After what he did in 2013, you have to think he could do it again, but after awhile he made it clear that it was a flash in the pan.
Not saying Auburn was not good in 2013. Just that everything came together to make the year happen. Big plays at the right time. A new coach that inspired confidence in the players. It was just a great year all around.

I know, but they do. Either people just trolling or fans of teams who would be thrilled to have what Gus brought for us (7-9 wins and a few wins vs. Bama).

You got it here. It's trolls. The very same people who want to make fun of Auburn for firing Gus are the same people who would have screamed for his firing if he were their coach.

You do realize that the AP was not the "do all, know all" forever, right? And I noticed you left out that Auburn was on probation for paying players in 1957, too.
As for 1942, Georgia was 10-1, and Ohio State was 9-1, so yeah. legitimate claim. There were several legitimate polls that were recognized by the NCAA that recognized Georgia.
Again. The NCAA recognizes it. If you don't want to....more power to you. I couldn't care less if you recognize it or not. If I decided not to recognize your 1957 Championship would you care?

You seem like a level-headed, good guy. You and Summer Of George can be easy to discuss football with- there are too many troll idiots around here. As far as AU goes- we can't say a word about UGA. Unfortunately, they've been our daddies since around 2006. Hopefully, we can turn it around soon. With Gus, we knew going on the road was an automatic L. Maybe Harsin can show us something.

Truth be known, neither schools fans can say much about the other school. When you look at everything for each school we are almost carbon copies of each other. Very similar in every way. We have gotten the better end of the deal for a bit, but in college football these type things tend to even out.

I'm not sure Harsin is the answer, but he should be better than Gus was. If given time, Harsin will bring Auburn back. Who knows, he might bring Auburn back very quickly.
