I think Bear Bryant started the rating rivals/scout rating system

It was tough to play for Bryant and it is tough as hell to play for Saban, but it's speeches like that and being able to deliver on them that kept great players wanting to play for Bryant and keep great players wanting to play for Saban. The media and opposing coaches can continue bashing the hell out of Saban for oversigning, medical redshirts, processing players, etc, but the best players don't care about competition or how many times they are yelled at, or how hard they are pushed. Not every player fits the Alabama mold and that is fine.

Wow. Never seen that before. It's powerful and true. Bryant himself seems omnipotent - a God living in a mans body with one purpose: To teach young men how to win at football and life.
