Isn't theirs due to stadium construction?

This is the stated reason. However, it is just some political BS. we canceled it for the same reasons as the others.

When the SEZ was being re-done we still held a spring game. wouldn't be that hard to just contain the crowd to one side or the other.

These cancel culture, I mean cancel games schools will come to regret.

All the HS recruits are big into social media. They want likes for anything.

Going to spring game was an opportunity for recruit visitors to take selfies and post “I was there” type stuff. While adults may not care this is a big deal to recruits, getting seen.

Its just another thing those schools who kept it can use to negative recruit.

“They can’t afford it”

“Lots of players missing out getting playing exposure, at our school X we want to get you seen making plays”.

It may seem trivial but a lot of rostered players don’t get much or any playing time in fall. So Spring was their chance to get some. And get exposure plus film.

It works both ways. School can get too paranoid and it hurts players as they over protect them from it. When kids want exposure.

Has anyone else canceled their game in the SEC?

Tennessee is keeping theirs...for now.

April 12 is the day. A kickoff time will be determined at a later date..

Yes, because even if there's no one there to hear it, the "sound" can still be recorded.

After looking at their weak schedule, this would’ve been one of their tougher games. Shame it got canceled.
