Mark laird will start somewhere in the outfield. He played 1A ball but has been tearing up scrimmages.
Simply too talented to keep on the bench and brings some much needed speed to our team

i swear to god the aggieathletics website is the worst design ever. And every year they come out with a new design that is equally bad or worse. It's almost like they are trying to suck.
Here's our record vs each SEC school according to our website:
Bama 3-0
Arky 38-29-1
LSU 15-12-1
Auburn no games played
Miss 4-1
MSU 8-6
UF 6-1
UT 1-0
UGA no games played
USCe not on there but we played them in CWS and lost
Vandy no games played
UK 3-1
Mizzou 40-28-1
It looks like it hasn't been updated since the 2011 season (guessing before) since the USCe game is not included so these totals are off in a few cases

South Carolina will dominate. They are the Alabama of college baseball.

Does that make MSU the LSU of college baseball because we won the SEC?

I would flip flop them most likely, 9 out of the top 10 largest crowds in NCAA history is a tradition to hang your hat on. I can't wait for season to start, Holder is so good it's scary.

We're going to be a bit down, but we should still be a regional team. Program-wise, we are a 2nd tier program I'd say behind the blue bloods. We have the resources to get there though.
If anything I was more excited about baseball with this conference move. Gonna be some fun weekends here in a bit

You must know nothing about college baseball if you have to ask this question.

For a lot of schools in the SEC, baseball is probably the #2 sport behind football and not basketball like it is in the rest of the country.
Yet another reason I've wanted into the SEC since Arky left the SWC.

We should have a very good squad this coming season.
- Yes we lost our 2 big power hitters in Kirksey and Snyder but I feel like in year 2 under Coach Godwin (hitting coach) we will have guys make strides. Namely Sikes Orvis, Preston Overbey, and Bousfield.
- We only lost one pitcher who logged significant innings, RJ Hively. We bring back one of the nation's best fri-sat combos in Bobby Wahl and Mike Mayers as well as 4 year closer Brett Huber. Huber struggled some last year but once he was completely healthy he was fantastic to be honest.
- We had 5 freshman pitch 20 innings or more last year, with 2 of those throwing over 30 innings. All 5 of them have a loads of talent/potential. We also have junior Aaron Greenwood who was solid for us last year.
- Defensively we should be very very good. Our outfield may be the fastest outfield in the conference. Will Jamison, Tanner Mathis, and Austin Bousfield can all scat and Jamison/Bousfield have cannons also. Mistone should be 1st team all SEC at 3rd, Stuart Turner/Will Allen/Austin Knight will give us talent and depth behind the plate, and I am hearing Lance Wilson is a player at SS.
- If we dont host a regional and win it I will be disappointed. End of story.

No mention of Yarbs? You know, y'all's best hitter last year.

I am talking about recent dominance, son. LSU was the dominant team a decade ago. So was Florida State, Miami, and Nebraska in football. It doesn't mean anything now.

Our measurements of "decade" differ.

We still won the title in 2009 and made the CWS in 2003, 2004, and 2008 in the last 10 years.

Yea my bad on that, was thinking more of us losing our pure power hitters and left Yarbs off. We will def depend on pitching and defense to win.

It is difficult to have much respect for Mizzou baseball given what we "know" right now. I do believe it has good potential to be a very good, very competitive baseball school, but that will require getting the fans to show up along with probably $20-30 million in facilities improvements. At least you are in the east, where the baseball culture is not nearly as cut throat for the most part...
Current CWS drought is 8 years longer than Ole Miss's, taking us back to the mid 1960s.
Currently not in the top 47 in baseball attendance. All other 13 SEC schools are in the top 33. Those in last have made exciting hires, are looking at stadium improvement, etc...SEC attendance:
#1 LSU
#2 Arkansas
#3 South Carolina
#4 Ole Miss
#6 MSU(down attendance by MSU standards)
#9 Texas A&M
#11 Florida
#13 Alabama
#22 Auburn
#26 Vanderbilt
#30 Georgia
#32 Tennessee
#33 Kentucky
?? Mizzou
Got to stop allowing in-state talent to end up at Missouri State, who has been pretty competitive in baseball over the past decade.

MSU is picked by both Perfect Game and Baseball America to be back in Omaha this year. Will be the first year under John Cohen that we are back at or very near 100%...after what we will call a 4 year rebuild from the Polk mess.
We lost our ace starter, Chris Stratton, in the first round, our middle reliever/former closer Caleb Reed, and another middle reliever Nick Routt. We lost occasional outfielder/role player Brent Brownlee. We also lost one signee, William DuPont, to the draft...
Outside of that, we bring back everybody. Bring back all of our top 10 position players, including one from Team USA and 2 newcomers from Team Canada...along with alot of key cogs from that country's best pitching staff. We have nearly unlimited arms to make a postseason run...
Player to watch: Hunter Renfroe with potential to be MSU's first true 1st rd position player since Clark and Palmeiro(Ed Easley went in the supplemental first, Brad Corley went in the 2nd)...
