Jimbo could keep extorting them for more and more cash. They're so desperate they'd pay anything to keep him.

Fisher was the coach we wanted; the coach we hired; and the coach we’d like to keep.
For now, anyways.
Strategic business decisions have been made by the university (in the forms of $ and freedom for him to leave, should he want to do so) for the singular purpose of showing Texas A&M’s commitment to him.
Money isn’t an issue, so the ‘they’d pay anything” comment is a moot point.
If/when we part ways with each other in the future, we’ll hire someone else.
