Did you see the SC v Ucla game? There were almost as many hot dog vendors as fans at that game. SC isn't anywhere close to being a destination job anymore. All the football fans (Republicans) have moved out of California over the last decade. No one left there that cares about football.

The USC Administration is not committed fully to football. They are falling on lists like these. This isn’t the 70s anymore

I doubt that. If the playoffs had been a 12 team playoff, USC would have made the playoffs twice in the past 10 years.

It's all about fit. There is no universal ranking list of jobs applicable to all coaches. At the end of 2017 Chip Kelly thought UCLA was above Florida, Tennessee, and all the other schools reaching out.
