We beat the crap out of Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree's Texas Tech team which if you will poke your head outside your Arkinsaw bubble a second you would remember was very good Top 20 team in those days. And we beat an Illinois team that was in your precious BCS that year (Rose Bowl). And I love too how you denigrate your own McFadden/Felix Jones team by implying our win over you was nothing special and apparently something anyone could do. Love it. Thanks!
Oh and much as I hate ku, you are the one saying the BCS is the end-all be-all and only teams that have been there are worth a damn...well ku went to the BCS that year which is why we got screwed out of it...so was ku worth a damn or not??? If not, then sounds like the BCS is flawed and picked the wrong team. Which is it? Can't have it both ways.

and I would venture to guess that the nation doesn't GAF about 39 or so of those championships there.

Most underachieving team I've ever seen at Arkansas and a reason why Nutt was fired. Kentucky and Tennessee also beat us that season as well as a mediocre Auburn team.

and please say where i said BCS bowls are the end all be all? you guys got screwed out of one that year. by the same token you could say we got screwed by the NCAA when they let a bunch of known cheaters play in the Sugar Bowl.

Oh and yes, the ratings for those cross country national titles you guys have piled up were through the roof. For me there's Super Bowl Sunday and Cross Country Championship Tuesday and then there's everything else.

Is John L. going to be our coach until NSD next year? Tenpenny had a shitty relationship with Petrino, that is no secret, so it's not like it can get much worse on that front.

And yet when you played us you were fresh off a win over #1 ranked LSU and the message board smack you all were spouting at the time about SEC level of play and speed and how you were gonna expose us and destroy us was suspisciously similar to the same smack you are trotting out right now.
Bottom line - you know and ackowledge that Mizzou was a BCS level, high level team that year. We had one nemesis in OU and yes we lost by double digits but we also led in the fourth quarter in Norman and were tied at half in Big 12 title game, that's not exactly awful. And it's certainly different than "the cellar" or "vandy level" which is what the overly simplistic, lame smack on here towards Mizzou usually says - including earlier in this thread. So I will call that as far toward a reasonable response as I can hope to take you, and try to end it there.

what are you trying to accomplish by bringing up the 2007 season? that will get you nothing here, especially since it was done in the Big 12. That's not an Arkansas-hate thing that's just how it is on the Rant. If you don't like it you might as well get used it. Posters here DGAF about your accomplishments in the Big 12, just like they don't care about ours in the SWC.

The point is, your fan base was trotting out the EXACT SAME MESSAGE to us prior to the 07 Cotton Bowl: "Your record doesn't mean jack cuz it was done in the Big 12. You are in the big leagues now, prepare to be exposed by SEC speed and level of play" etc.
38-7 later, that mantra was replaced by the "we had an interim coach/players didn't care/it was Nutt's fault not ours" etc. We heard the same mantra last time we played South Carolina in a bowl game too, until we beat them. I can't point to future non-Big 12 events yet for us since they haven't happened, but I can point out that the same mantra you guys keep trotting out is stuff we've heard from you before as well.

I love generalizations. You base your entire opinion of our fan base on Hogville? I'm sure you're so in touch with us being in Austin and all. In 2007 fans were much more elated with Houston Nutt being fired than what was going to happen in the Cotton Bowl.
Again, we are talking about 2007, why aren't we talking about our accomplishments the past 2 seasons? A little more relevant don't you think?

Bottom line: you're the new guy, you're going to get shite, a lot of it. We still get shite like Big 12 jokes and we've been around 20 years and were never even in the Big 12.
As I said earlier, what you accomplished in the Big 12 means shite, yes, you beat us in 2007, congrats however if you continue to hang your hat on that like it's a monumental win in your program's history will only cause more shite to be thrown your way.

I would hardly say unexpected. Mizzou was in on him all along the way. While the likes of Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas and eventually Arkansas all came and went, Mizzou was always in the running.
