Maybe play some defense?

Lets be real. Any team LSU played this year with an offensive pulse scored at will on your defense.

I mean Mizzou did lose to Vandy but at the same time Vandy put 38 on your "star" studded defense.

Losing to Vandy is embarrassing. Beating Vandy but allowing them to score 38 on you in the process is just as embarrassing when you are supposed to be one of the best teams in the country.

Wisconsin vs Florida is the only way to do it. Because I think Penn State ends up in the Rose Bowl so that will leave Wisky open for a bowl with an SEC B1G tie-in.

I agree. It will never happen because football funds all other athletics at school. 19 regular season games. Every conf has 9 conf games and one power five OOC. 16 team playoff with every conf champ recognized and then the next highest ranked opponents. EVERY other sport including FCS football does this. It’s not impossible for FBS football. Keeping the playoff games at home help mitigate any monetary losses and you also open up smaller schools for achieving some parity when they can sell that got into the playoffs. Look at top 16 teams now. There would be some really good matchups.
