You brought the bible thumper to the Plains to win now. And after a 4 year period of bad football, that has all the earmarks of a Doug Barfield-coached team, win is what this prodigal son better do. Deflecting won't "save" his hide.

He also ended up with the playing field named after him. What's your point?

It has to do with winning football games. You wouldn't understand.

Is that anyway a fan of a born-again Christian should talk? Let's walk the walk.

I think that was a reverse boog.

You'll have to hit yourself in the head with a rock to translate his Gump nonsense.

No, not even close. I agree that the Oklahoma game will tell us much more, but my impression is that we are trending up from last year. Most Gumps also agree with this as their Auburn obsessed posts are becoming more strident and shrill.

Then pay attention to what I've already said. Trending up is 8 wins and beating a good SEC team at home. That's reasonable, not 7-5. 7-5 is just lessening the blow and running interference for the Freeze Man. Otherwise, the last 4 years ( 2000-03) have been exactly what Doug Barfield gave you people during his brief reign.

I agree with this.

Reflection of coaching…
UGA game- players are taught since Pop Warner to knock the ball down. UGA DB’s did not - Coaching
Kick Six - Davis lead the country in punt returns. Auburn set up for the return, Bama did not - Coaching!
Last year. Auburn safety was suppose to double up with the corner on the outside. He failed to do so - Coaching!
No Luck…. Coaching.
This is a strange post. Celebrating Gus’ coaching ability while roundhousing Freeze’ coaching ability.

I must say the last 3 Auburn coaches finished their careers in less than winning form. The current coach has a ? by his record on the plains so far.
This year will show what he has in the tank, a 6-7 win coach or a coach to top out at 8-9 wins. I hope for your sake he fools the doubters and proves to be above average.

You are correct, Gus was 6-5 in his final season at Auburn. Gus is the only Auburn head coach since 1943 who had a winning record in his final season at Auburn.

You have to be in position to tackle him to actually miss tackles. Those fatties on the FG unit certainly couldn't catch him.

SoJ Stat Attack
Auburn has lost 4 games or more in 15 out of the last 17 seasons .
They have had 3 losing seasons in a row.
