Here's the deal about living in the past. You don't get to pick the time frame. It's either current, or it's not. If you don't like that, frick you, and shut up.
Alabama fans can live in the past like no one else (except maybe Notre Dame, Army, etc).
Saying that you guys dominated "the last decade" means exactly squat, to us Gumps. We beat you this year. That's what really matters.
The coach that built your team up to a national contender is now doing that to Alabama. You should fear that. I would. It's logical.

if only you knew how silly you seem to us when you make fun of us for a 12-2 season. bowl win or not. it just makes you seem upset, jealous, resentful... something i can't quite put a finger on... perhaps all of it.

Still, if the Bear had left Alabama, gone to the NFL (which as I understand he ALMOST did) and then came back to coach Auburn, I'd be devastated.
The cool thing is, with Fulmer gone, and the Bear dead, as soon as all of of us "old" Gumps die off, the Tennessee rivalry won't mean a thing. LSU should take their place. You guys will have your first TRUE rivalry. It's started already thanks to Saban.

While we are psycho-babbling, I'll analyze your above statement. Clearly it is meant to evoke some sort of rejection feeling in me that somehow all the gump posters on tigerdroppings will now ostracize me for my stupidity. That is the woman in you projecting your own fears of rejection(which are prevalent in your half of the population) I can tell you are the type that likes to read between the lines; so read this, and know that it is from the bottom of my psyche:

Yes Baton Rouge is not as great as Hunts Vegas
It is true that you have a newer interstate (565) seeing is how 15 years ago it was just red dirt road or Governers Dr.
and Baton Rouge does not have Tommy T's little club or The Chop house (two of 4 bars in the whole city) or even public service transportation. (These are only some of the things that make Hunts Vegas a small town. Please don't compare the Capital of our State to your small town and stop hanging out in the food mart parking lot.
