I don't know but Aggie admin thinks they are all Number 1.

And aggy "insiders" think they are all chomping at the bit to coach there.

Don't forget: land! Aranda was being given land! It was a done deal! Land god damnit!

Seriously, screen writers couldn't script this shite any better.

We went as high as we felt comfortable going and you are paying a DC a mid-level D1 HC salary. We weren’t willing to do that and you won the bidding war. Congratulations. Still doesn’t change the fact that while he was the guy we wanted, there was a ceiling for how high we were willing to go to get him and that ceiling was right around $2 million/yr.

before they realize the problem is not the coaches, it is the school and the culture.

Reminds me of "that guy" that keeps buying new golf clubs, but continues to play like $hit3!

Never.. who really admits they are the problem?

So now you're going to act like aggy doesn't have a history of, or is suddenly above, overpaying coaches?

You paid Sumlin $5M/year for accomplishing absolutely nothing, and you just guaranteed Jimbo $75M for being Sumlin 2.0 bc let's face it: outside of Manziel and Jameis, both are pretty unremarkable and undeserving of the money aggy threw at them.

Hindsight is 20/20. Sumlin seemed worth it at the time. So we will see on Jimbo and if you are right, I’m sure you will let us all know about it.

But there is a difference between HC and Coordinator’s as you know and two cases (assuming Fisher is one) does not constitute a trend let alone a history.

Eh I think eventually we might re-examine some things if we keep destroying the careers of otherwise elite coaches.

But between now and the we will completely frick up the coaching compensation scale to try and snag that white whale coach that can turn us into winners without changing a thing.
