QB: has to be better
RB: we had a 1,000 yard rusher last year, might not get that this year because of 3 backs sharing duty: push
FB: we are using one...improve, but had a better FB last year that we didn't use
WR: only lost one (moe): improve
OL: Please God no injuries this year....has to be better
DL: worst, lost the only game changer...Ealy might be the man, but he has to show me first
LB: Push, faster bigger guys but we lost two starters: push, maybe worst
DB: better maybe...hoping
Special teams: lost punter, worst

Carolina (Note I haven't followed football at all during the spring so I might be off a little)
QB - Slight improvement, Shaw was recovering this entire spring from his foot & Thompson got some valuable snaps in the spring taking all the 1st team reps. Both were very good last year so I doubt either made a huge leap.
RB - Slight improvement, will be allowed to dish it inbetween 3 different backs instead of just Latty/Miles, Davis is going to be a really good one he showed flashes last fall & had a really good spring from what I've heard then Wilds is a proven RB (replaced Latty in '10 after 1st knee injury) & finally Shon Carson is finally healthy
TE - Improvement, Jerrell Adams & Rory Anderson will most likely be 2 of the best TE's in the SEC imo they are going to be really good
OLine - Slight Improvement, I believe 4 out of the 5 starters are back this season so there is experience & we need them to be improved in order to make a run at Atlanta less pressure on Shaw the better
WR - Regressed, losing Ace hurt us & I'm not sure if we're going to have that #1 guy, I don't think Bruce can fill that role he's much more like a slot wide out we need a big guy to develop & have a good season hopefully Shaq Roland will finally be as good as advertised. Overall this will most likely be the weakest part of our Offense imo going into the season.
DLine - Slight Improvement, pretty much everyone's back I believe losing Taylor hurts but we have guys that have been in games & that are experienced & very talented, plus having Clowney isn't all that bad amirite?
Secondary - Even, some are back from last year but this unit doesn't have a ton of depth experience I expect Legree, Hampton, & Williams all to improve however.
LBs - Regressed, hardly any experience here I'm worried about this unit as we hardly have anyone coming back if I remember right, hopefully this unit will develop & become a really good unit, weakest part on the Defense side of the ball for sure.
Kickers - Regressed, new FG guy so I'm skeptical on how he'll be this year would be nice to have another Succop come around.
Return guy - Regressed, losing Ace is going to hurt we haven't had that good of a Return man in the past 10-12 years there will most likely be a drop off in this department.

Since the guy up there did such a shitty one:
Offense
QB- Better. Either James Franklin will actually be healthy this year and play more like his 2011 campaign, or he'll be surpassed by Maty Mauk (statistically the greatest HS QB of all time). Either way it will be better.
RB- Better. We lost Kendial Lawrence who was a 1,000 yard rusher last year. But he was always supposed to be the backup to Henry Josey. Josey is back this season after having 2012 off due to injury. He led the B12 in rushing in only 3/4 of a season in 2011. Plus Russell Hansborough our So. backup was named the most improved during spring ball. So he should have a solid season. And we can't forget about Marcus Murphy, who was named 1st Team All-American returner last year. I'm sure we'll continue to get him the ball in space.
FB: Better (de facto) We might actually have one this year. Greg White, our only back above 220 had one hell of a spring. Definitely look for him to get on the field in the blocking/bruising back role.
WR: Better. The only lost reciever from last year is Moe, who contributed far less on the field than people think. DGB who figured out the college game 1/2 way through last season, should be All-SEC this season. The other receivers should improve with another year under their belts, plus with 5* transfer Darius White eligible, that should help.
TE: Better. Sean Culkin was named starter as a freshman in fall ball, but got hurt just before the season and had to RS. He's back in form this year. Last year's starter Eric Waters should move to the blocking TE role with the shift in offensive philosophy.
OL Better. We lost one starter, who really only played a handful of games. Plus with all the injuries from last season out of the way, there is no way this unit is not better.
Defense
DT: Worse. You can't really replace Sheldon Richardson. But Matt Hoch still holding down the other half should help.
DE: Better. The same starters as last year, plus a big push in spring from a couple of guys who redshirted. This is consistently a very solid group.
LB: Push. We're replacing two of the three starters, including Gooden to the draft. But depth wise we should be much more solid. Darvin Ruise who started a handful of games last year, will take one spot. The other will be up for competition, including a highly touted freshman that some services ranked as top player in the state.
CB: Worse. We still have E.J. Gaines who will be all SEC. But we replace a big loss in Kip Edwards. Simple as that.
S: Better. We're replacing one of the starters in Kenronte Walker. Luckily we're doing so with the #1 JUCO safety. The other, Braylon Webb should be more consistent in his second year of starting, plus he's facing a strong push from the peanut gallery, so he's going to be forced to compete.
Special Teams
P: Same guy as last year. So one would think another year under his belt would help.
K Worse. We're replacing a 3 year starter, and the early indications don't look good. Although we actually forked out a a scholly for a top ranked prospect who'll arrive in the summer, so who knows.
LS- Push. Same guy as last year.
KR/PR- Better. Yes Murphy was an all American last year. But he didn't even have the job full time until the 4th game.
Overall
Offense- Better (substantially)
Defense- Push
Special Teams- Push

OFFENSE:
QB: We went into 2012 with only Shaw having experience beyond mop-up duty. Even still, Shaw had legitimate questions as to how capable a passing QB he'd be. For 2012 Shaw improved in most every passing category despite dealing with various injuries throughout the season. Thompson develops into a very dependable QB that can be relied on to perform in the most crucial of situations. IMPROVEMENT
RB: No one will replace the leadership that Lattimore brought to the team. However, USC has a wealth of depth at the RB position to make an attempt. The issue here is, we had this wealth the previous 2 seasons, and in each case were whittled down to depending on true freshmen backs in the final weeks of the season. If our backs can remain relatively healthy IMO we could see substantial production, even better than what we saw last season due to an injury-depleted corps: with Lattimore as a national leading rusher in '11 we averaged 200 ypg, but after he was injured Wilds and Shaw combined to keep the run game at 185 ypg. So they can produce post-Lattimore, but they need to stay healthy. STATUS QUO/IMPROVEMENT
WR: We went into 2012 with only 400 yd/2 td Ace Sanders as our top returning WR. We will go into 2013 with 600 yd/7 td Ellington plus 400 yd/3 td Byrd returning, so the experience at the position will be improved. We'll also have a more experienced Roland who's shown improvement during spring camp, plus Fuller and Smith who were red-shirted last season. IMPROVEMENT
TE: Losing Cunningham means losing a physical blocking TE. Anderson has shown he can block, but mostly as a down-filed blocker as opposed to a line blocker like Justice. But where Anderson is a stride above Cunningham is as a receiver option: his first 2 seasons Busta has 459 yds and 8 tds in 22 receptions. He along with Adams and Owens combined won't provide the LOS blocking that Cunningham did, but they will be a very dangerous receiving option on offense. IMPROVEMENT
OL: We lost our most experienced OL from '12 in Johnson, but return as many as 4 starters from the previous season for the first time under Spurrier. The new center will be inexperienced, but the unit as a whole will gain 14 total starts over what it had with Johnson to start 2012. IMPROVEMENT
DEFENSE:
DL: Returning Clowney will be huge. Quarles will also be one of the top DTs in the SEC. We'll have a very experienced Sutton or a Devin Taylor v.2 in English opposite Clowney, plus either Surratt or Dixon Jr. on the interior. Sutton, Surratt, and Dixon all have game experience and starts to their credit, but obviously won't match what Taylor and Jerideau took with them. STATUS QUO
LB: Not much to sugar coat here - lost a TON of experience at the position. What we're replacing the losses with will be more talented, quicker, and more athletic. There will be a loss in physicality and size. DECLINE
DB: We entered the '12 season after losing CB Gilmore, plus platooning CBs Whitlock and Markett. We replace them with backups Hampton and Legree who are starting at CB for the first time. SS Holloman is moved to Spur, and replaced with youngster Williams. Only Swearinger is the returning regular starter in the secondary. For '13, Swearinger has moved on, but Hampton, Legree, and Williams all return with a season of experience and starts. In Swearinger's place highly rated prospect Chaz Elder has impressed during the spring camp. The loss of Swearinger will be felt in 2013, but overall as a unit the secondary should be more experienced and stronger. IMPROVEMENT
S/T Return: Sanders was one of the top punt returners in the nation last season. We'll have options for his replacement, but they won't be Sanders. DECLINE
S/T P/K: We return both Hull and Ard who have experience with punting and kick-offs, but lost our FG kicker. DECLINE

Nice write up.
Still haven't had any UF, or MSU input, have we? Do we have any Vandy fans on the SECr?

Revisiting, hoping to get a response from UF, MSU, and Vandy.

With the whole hill saga, I would say our RBs just regressed

I'm curious to hear from UF also...if the Pease hire will pan out and players are simply needed...or if there is an OC issue.

Not really. It's still possible he's our day 1 starter, but there's another thread for that topic.

I'm hoping our passing attack suffices so that Hill (or any other specific RB) is not our mainstay. If Coach Cameron can do the deal, with our OL, I think all of our RB's can be successful.

We have a senior QB, an experienced WR core, a talented group of TE's, and a much better offensive mind behind our offense. I expect us to be better in the passing game. Nothing by a huge margin, but I think solid progress will be evident.

Didn't see a State one yet, so here goes:
QB: Decline. fricking Russell is a head case. Could be improvement if dak gets starts
RB: Wash. Perkins is back but nick griffin is hurt again. Most solid corps on team.
WR: Decline. Bumphis is gone. need younger players to step up
TE: Decline. Marcus Green finally graduated after 14 years playing for State.
OL: Improvement. Returning boku starters.
DL: Improvement. Need to develop raw talent, though.
LB: Decline. Losing Cam Lawrence means a loss of a leader, even if he was terrible at times.
DB: Major decline. Lost Banks, Slay, and Broomfield. Returning Nickoe "Hit or miss" Whitley
P/K: Only way to go from the bottom is up, right?
ETA: this is the most homer thread I might have ever seen.
ETA again: This made me realize how bad we are going to be

So basically you're better at every position except kick returner?

Ermahgerd also crapped:
I think we found our national champion.
Two dawg douchbags that cannot read, yet neither offered-up their take on the upcoming Dawg's talent level for 2013.
Then along came a couple of other Gamecock fans who, for the most part and while doing their own take on the Gamecocks, agreed with what I had already typed ... which pretty-much validated mine, plus, honestly, we're just telling it like it is about the Gamecocks in 2014. Evidently the only real place where we are unsure is at WR, but as I typed, we're loaded there - Spurrier always has plenty of WR talent on hand.
But back to the flea bites, the butt licker douch bags ... I was reading their little teeny bopper girly replies again, when it hit me why the two butt lickers chimed-in on the Gamecock stuff, but refused to take the time to offer-up their opinions on the Dawgs this season ... it's because they are fawked and they know it.
I like it. It makes my day. The frickin' mutts are nervous. Son-of-a-bitch the truth is smacking them in the face and they are scared. I'll be damned.

Mizzou most definitely has progressed. The excitement coming out of Columbia is at all time highs.
Very confident that we'll win the East this year. Last year was a fluke.

Based on a few practices at Bama
Qb is good. Back ups are better than last year but still a dangerous drop off
Oline. Talented but not nearly as good. Has the ability to improve obviously but it's not as talented as last years.
Wr. Might be the best unit I've ever seen on campus
Rb. Yeldon is great. Drake looks slower. Fowler is good. Might see a true freshman be the 2nd back. So I'd say right now it's not as good but deeper
DL. More talented not as good. Missing a lot of assignments but look faster. Stinson is really solid. Ivory is average I think. Pagan looks like he could be really good. Others in the rotation are talented enough but lack experience.
Lb. very good. Devall impressed me. Mosley is fantastic. Hubbard looked good. Ragland looks like a breakout player. Others are solid. Didn't really see any weak links.
Db. Need help. Thin and young. Probably the weakest link. Belue looks the most solid and has gotten better. Fulton and smith look serviceable. Everyone else just looked average.
Safety. Starters are solid to very good. Collins is some experience away from being electric. He and Ha Ha can cover some ground quickly. Both look to have excellent instincts. Sunseri is solid.
Sp. no opinion.

Offense: for the love of god I hope there's a little improvement. Can't get much worse. Jones/Taylor should make a great duo at rb so I don't see the running game declining too much. Maybe a slight improvement at wr but they still won't be anything to write home about. Driskel will be slightly better this year but I just don't see him ever being a very good sec qb.
Defense: tired of typing but there will probably be a slight drop off but I still expect a top defense to be on the field
