Found our official policy:
quote:
If you want to purchase a student guest ticket, you must stop by the Alabama Ticket Office the week of each home game to convert the ticket. The cost is the face value of the ticket minus $10 (already paid by student). For example, a public ticket for the Ole Miss game is $75. The cost to upgrade to a student guest ticket would be $65. Student upgrades are done Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. during the week of each home game. The paper Student Guest ticket will be issued upper or lower deck assignment based on the original assignment status of the ticket being upgraded. Ticketholders must check the deck assignment as upper deck tickets enter through Gate 30 and lower deck tickets enter through Gate 31.

UT has also been giving student tickets to the students of surrounding community colleges at the same ten dollar rate.
I believe this was a one time deal for the S. Carolina game which was during fall break.
I don't believe the community college students got to sit in the SS either. They got upper deck general admission seating.

I sat in the A&M student section twice with my slampiece.

Yeah that's not possible at USC. The SS is physically blocked off on one side and completely disconnected from the other part of the stadium on the other.
You have to go into the gate closer to the student section and get a wrist band, just say you couldn't get a student ticket but you want to sit near your friends and the workers will more than likely give you one (I was never denied).

If you're a Bama, UGA, or LSU fan in our student section, you most likely will have beer thrown on you.

USC is very strict about non-students. It makes sense because having students from other schools in the school's student section could, and has, caused problems
Just last year comes to mind. '12 Tenn, I could see the flashes of orange in the upper north endzone as they were pushing, it was a middle aged UT fan (early 40's) and a younger UT girl (20's or put together really well) getting into it with students. It was the only time I've seen the cops actually run up the steps.

No. That doesn't matter though.

Sounds terrible too. Do they load up a flask with beer?

Yup. Most do liquor. But there's some who do beer.

I don't know about that, maybe it's changed but I was able to get friends in multiple times when I was a student, even got a girl from UGA without problems. Granted, they were using USC student tickets but still.

Not sure now that student tickets are so connected to the student ID card at UGA, but before all you needed was two friends with tickets, have them go in, then one come out with the extra ticket and then the two of you would go back in the section. The lower student sections were always packed like sardines and pretty much first come, first serve, and the fratboys and sorority sisters that tried to claim their ticketed seats halfway through the first quarter were usually driven off by halftime. Everyone pretty much stood the whole time because it was way too difficult to sit with 20 extra people in the row. However, it usually meant that you didn't fall hard when you passed out just sue to the crush. Good times, good times.
