When we were planning our wedding my fiance suggested September 15th. I said "Nope, we play Alabama that day. If we plan a wedding that day, I won't be attending."

Definitely on the clothes! Gameday wouldn't be complete without visiting The Strip for some crimson and houndstooth. Gotta represent in style.

Skipped homecoming in high school 3 of 4 years because I had GA/FL tickets.

Actually went senior year when they decided to put it on an off week.

And fall weddings are the worst.

Absolutely around football season.
When my daughter was engaged (which never came to fruition) the proposed wedding date was to be in the fall and was planned around open dates.
BTW, in the SEC this is as much the women as the men.

Both teasips wedding I've been to are in the fall. I had to miss a Colorado game for one of them, which in all honesty I wasn't too bent out of shape about.

On a related note, I've always wondered what the INCREDIBLY high amount of asians and indians in the teasip student body is going to do for football in the future. They care more about soccer and cricket than they ever would football, and I'm sure most of them don't even know the rules. But, A&M has always been able to have a largest and most interested student body on game days, and tu has still had 10 win seasons out the arse.

I'm representing the ladies. Make room for lots of us, too. You know the old joke Southern women know their seasons.

I never went to homecoming during high school. 3 years it was home games and then sr year it was at uf.

I declined being my cousins best man because his wedding was on jan 3rd a few years back and i didn't know what bowl we were going to yet so i couldn't commit to doing it.

Our son and his wife got married on January 1. I raised HELL and told him that if Auburn was playing in a bowl that day, he was screwed. he knew I meant it too. Lucky for him we played on January 10th for the big prize in 2010.

That proved to be a pain in the arse anyway. You know how hard it is to get a caterer for new years DAY?

My brother (big dumbass), got married on October 31 a number of years ago. Not only was he a moron because now every halloween its his anniversary and kids want to go trick or treating. on that saturday, it happened to be the UGA/UF game in Jacksonville. My cousin, who is a MAJOR Georgia alum and contributor, missed that game to go to the wedding. I couldnt believe it. I told my bro that he again was very very lucky it wasnt the Iron Bowl. If it was he was frickED. I wouldnt be there.

One has to seriously question your taste...

I wonder if the Bear every imagined all the horrible things that have been done to houndstooth since he first donned that hat.

In the SEC, football is king. My wife knows better than to plan anything when UGA is playing football.

i've been there.

I'm the secret service looking guy in the background, Auburn/Arky 2010. Earbuds run up thru the suit, back of my head. My kid sitting in the front. I asked him why, he said he wanted to be the closest to the pretty girl.

If you aren't married you are going to be one hell of a catch. Well done!!

Hey, representing in style takes some judgement even when you're wearing orange and blue. I love our houndstooth. I think Coach Bryant would think what I think. It's all good unless it has a little "nascar" feel to it.

Why non gay males? My friends, family and acquaintances, gay or straight, male or female, will be found in front of the tube.

My ex-wife and I were married Nov 4, 2000. Yes, the LSU-Bama game that LSU won at TS against the Tide for the first time since 1969. Ex wife thought it was ridiculous to plan a wedding around football season which is probably why we aren't married anymore. Didn't go over well with my dad. He brought me an article from the Advocate that was basically a call to arms to be at TS for the game by Nick Saban. The writer wrote "Oustide of your daughter's wedding, you have no excuse to not be at TS, because your son would understand." My dad had highlighted that part

Nope, not married and thank you

You're damn skippy! My friend was talking about getting married on the day of the Iron Bowl in 2008 and I was a bridesmaid. I told her I'd be there, but I'd be streaming it through my phone during the Mass (Catholic Wedding). Thank god her fiance talked some sense into her and they rescheduled it in December.

Moral of the story: Don't plan a wedding during football season in the South. It's just not polite.
