LSU Extends FBS Record for Consecutive Non-Conference Regular Season Wins to 49

LSU increased its Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) record for consecutive non-conference regular season wins to 49 after the Tigers pummeled New Mexico State, 63-7, in Tiger Stadium on Sept. 27. The streak dates back to the 2002 season and now includes eight wins over ranked opponents after beating No. 14 Wisconsin in the 2014 season opener. The Tigers broke the FBS record for consecutive non-conference regular season wins in 2012, surpassing the mark of Kansas State who claimed 39 straight from 1993-2003. The Tigers haven't lost a non-conference regular season game since falling at Virginia Tech, 26-8, in the 2002 season opener in Blacksburg, Va., on Sept. 1. Les Miles has accounted for 39 of the 49 wins during the streak, and he is 39-0 all-time in non-conference regular season games in his tenure at LSU. Former coach Nick Saban accounted for the 10 other victories from 2002-04. Under Miles, the Tigers have outscored non-conference regular season opponents a combined 1,988-526. Here is a look at the top four in FBS all-time consecutive non-conference regular season wins:

Team Years Win Streak

1. LSU 2002-present 49
2. Kansas State 1993-2003 39
3. Miami 1985-88 36
4. Wisconsin 2003-13 35

Not one team from Texas in the top four list.

A list made up with ***** all over it

Texas A&M leads the nation and is #1 with 19 consecutive OOC wins

Congrats to LSU for being on too of the "we only count the easy games and not the losses when it counts" list

Exactly.

If LSU wasn't getting their shite pushed in OOC bowl games they would be pimping those too.

Hilariously, they ARE getting hoslapped and can apparently only beat lowly Iowa even AFTER we did them a favor and got selected for the more important/difficult bowl game

If there's one school in this entire universe we don't need moral victories against it's A&M.

I don't think you understand. LSU fans are not the one counting. It is media outlets and data gathering websites for college football that handle this.

Is that provided anywhere in this thread? Sorry, it's a lot of pages and I don't intend on going back through every page!

The media gets it right, with the appropriate qualifiers and asterisks.

It's the LSU fans who have somehow never been taught to read who have mangled the meaning. Non-conference regular season is not OOC.

I understand both records........We got to like 34 before losing to Penn State in a bowl game.

Its a great accomplishment..........

The OP ASKED how many consecutive OOC wins does your team have and I let him know that we hold the ALL TIME NCAA RECORD with 49.

Again congrats on the streak...........I like our Record of 49-3 in OOC games........

And why the frick do some Aggies keep saying we got our shite pushed in in bowl games when we lost each game by a FG?

Nevermind.........we are talking about Aggies, any gay reference is genetic.

I had to add that to the OP after LSU fans flamed the crap out of what was a great and legit thread

Sorry, originally it didn't have that dig in it. I guess the flaming LSU fans did eventually rustle my jimmies
