How many sacks did Mingo have in the two games against Bama last year? Seriously.
Last time I checked, this isn't last year. Mingo might not always get the sack but he's usually disruptive and causes havoc. You'll see Saturday night, gump
I do not recall Mingo having a sack in either game. He has 3 this year. Mongomery has 4. They may be disruptive but they are going against the best Oline in the country. I do not expect A.J. to see much pressure.

The most talented and deepest DL in the country won't get pressure. Good analysis.

I hope that you are right. No team that has beaten Bama in the last 4 years has thrown over 25 times.

What about last 6 years? Or is this a worthless stat?

They are going against 3 first round picks in this year's draft (Warmack, Jones and Fluker) along with the highest rated lineman recruit
( Kouandjio) from 2 years ago and a junior who has started for two years (Steen).
They are not the deepest but are certainly the most talented Oline in the country.

It's strength vs strength something will give. Will LSU have 10 sacks and live in the backfield? No. But to say that Gay J won't be pressured is asinine.

Since 2008 Bama's record is 56-6. Only teams to beat us recently threw less than 30 times.
This is the reason Miles is 3-3 against Saban. His teams can run the ball.

I think he'll have to pass more this time around. We don't have a mobile QB. We'll see.

I don't think Les will pass more unless he is forced to throw. That will be good for Bama because it means that you are not having success with the run. That is the key for Bama, can they stop the run? FL did, so I think Bama can.
SC had little success stopping the LSU's run game.

I just we will have to throw to win. As good as our D is I don't see them holding UA to 6. AJ has gotten a lot better. Our pass protection has to have their best game, our WR's can't just drop the ball, and Mett can't overthrow. Basically I think the O is going to have their best game for a win, I just think the passing will have to be a big part. JMO, that's all.

I think LSU of 2011 was much more formidable than LSU of 2012. LSU has had a great deal of attrition this year, due to suspensions, academics and injuries. I don't believe this team is nearly as dominant as in 2011.
I didn't think your QB play would be as inefficient as it has been to date. Jarrett Lee really was a very solid QB except for the first Bama game.
LSU played a much harder schedule in 2011 and dominated everyone but Alabama. This year , LSU beat AU 12-10, lost to FL and beat A&M by 5 after getting 4 or 5 turnovers. There is no question that this year's team has not lived up to expectations.

Lee was fine, had the highest efficiency rating in SEC. CLM just didn't foresee him going back to throwing picks and having that deer-in-the-headlight look again (how could he?). No way Lee beats UA in 2011, same for Zach.

Now that I see Mett, I think the worst possible thing Les could have done was to put him in The BCSCG when LSU was 2 scores down. He might have never recovered from that experience.

I don't Jarret ever recovered from his freshman year. JJ was it. There is a whole butthurt section mad about 'where's option B?" I never made the assumption there was a viable option B. Wishbone maybe.

I would have put Lee in, for a series, to see if he could move the team or provide a spark. I don't think it would have mattered, but I thought he had earned that right. Never understood why he never saw the field again after that game.
Yeah he stunk in Tuscaloosa but had seven solid games before that.

I agree. The second series in 3rd quarter. When JJ trotted out there I turned set off, I knew it was over.

Which probably frustrated CLM to no end.

Why has LSU underperformed in 2012 after such a dominating year in 2011 (except for the last game)?
Lingering effects from the beatdown or just attrition related losses have not been overcome?

Statistically USCe has the best Dline in the SEC.
