How long will the miracle 2019 run keep Pearl from being classified as a choker?

Hog had so many stud teams at Tennessee as a high seed, only made 1 Elite Eight with all those studs.

Each time he’s a tourney favorite at Auburn, 2021 and this year, he fricking chokes

Barnes has been to a Final Four as well, but he’s now known as a choke. How much longer for Pearl to qualify as a choke?

2019 was a Cinderella run, outside of that, he chokes in the tourney and does not perform

Well, Hog has about 20 years of head coach experience on Oats, with a losing record head to head I may add so nice deflection but not comparable

If Pearl gets to the S16 next year that’ll be his 2nd, matching Oats’ total at Bama in half the time. That’s a lofty goal my booger friend, all things Barn bball considered

Yes but nothing noteworthy happens until 2nd half in tourney, plus I don’t expect anything out of this fading team. Unlike Auburn fans who thought they’d win it based on the easiest SEC tourney road in history and were boasting for the past week about their up and coming greatness

That was a lot to say you care more about Auburn losing than your team winning

Well we just won the SEC tournament so that helps this pill go down a *little* bit easier. Plus the fact we all knew UCONN was going to eat us for breakfast anyway. It sucks but this was a wakeup call that you can't go far on raw energy, emotion and athleticism in the big dance.

Deflect all you want, but everybody I have talked to has Bama losing tonight or Sunday. This team has faded down the stretch. I will love a S16 appearance but don’t expect it with this squad. It’s gravy if they get there.

On the other hand, Barn was expected by many, you included to make a deep run. Just like 2021, the point of this thread is that when Pearl has a team expected to make deep runs, over the past 15 years he has choked outside of 2019.

Given Auburn bball history I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a lifetime contract, but from the outside looking in he vastly underachieves in March.

I’ll put Oats in the same category if he can’t get past the S16 for the next 5 years but he’s not there yet.

Think he'll be able to finally get to .500 vs Nate next year?

He is not OK. Losing his mind before us. Hopefully some of his watch party is still around, removing sharp objects from the premises.
