LSU fans sure are the champions of conditional smack talk.
Put LSU up against anyone in the middle of the year with approximately 6.3 days of recuperation time and 26 and two-thirds hours of studying game film for each coach and have 73 degree weather with a thunder shower scheduled two hours before the game, and they're unbeatable.
I mean if you think about it, LSU is the greatest football power in history if you only count the mid-30s, late 50s, mid-to-late 80's and mid-aughts.

Bama fans call every LSU fan who says something they don't want to hear a "ranter." My statement was tongue in cheek. They cannot stand a different opinion. I can provide facts to support my opinion all day long and all they say is, "Nuh uh. 21-0. Bama is awesome!" 2012 is a new year and all signs point to LSU winning this thing.
Can Alabama win? Of course. They will have a great team. But, me expressing confidence in LSU this year is hardly an idiotic opinion. Bama fans just can't stand it because I refuse to agree with them that they will never again lose a game.
