If I could pick a coach to play for, it'd be Miles.
I would have played for either Richt or Meyer, they basically let their players do whatever they want, while Les for some reason runs a tight ship regardless of talent.

When I say frick the haters, You guys are taking it wrong.
I just think he does a really good job. I agree though, in the beginning he was a little off. In the end he is improving as a coach every year as well. Same can be said for saban, I think he might be better know then when he was here.
So yes I am very proud of Our coach, and I think he is a great leader, I saw Brian Kelly last night and the man lost control and pitched a fit. I just don't see how that is productive.
Anyway, i think everyone will like what they see against state in 2 weeks.

He respects his players, and treats them like men of equal footing

i think people believe that miles is a very, very good coach. the elite title is eluding him because when miles does blow a game he does it in the most magnificent, bizarre, fourth of july fireworks, can only happen in a hollywood movie kind of way.
and when he pulls one out at the last minute, even though it may be due to incredible coaching, it looks to the average fan's eye like the les has made a deal with the devil. been some pretty wild endings to his games.
if miles wins another crystal ball this year, no doubt he will be considered an elite coach and one of those "characters" who become a legend.

i'm more interested in getting special treatment and running wild.

Only reason he doesn't get mentioned in the first tier is because when he does lose a game. There is typically huge coaching blunder at the end.

don't believe anyone mentioned Petrino. Since you brought it up. How would Miles do at Arkansas with our shitty recriting base? Would he do better than Petrino
This is what I mean. But his staff is second to none and he is a great recruiter. If petrino can't recruit that is his fault. Recruiting is 50% of the job.

actually petrino recruits well it just doesn't show up in the rankings.

Again, perception is reality to some of you people but not necessarily the truth. Name all these HUGE coaching blunders? Ole miss? Tennessee? Is that all some of you knuckle heads have in your bag?

He consistently develops players beyond their ceiling, weather or not he or the coaches he hires is irrelevant.
Soooo much fail in one sentence. Lots of mistakes.

The lack of lsu players on every preseason list was a direct insult to his proqram.
Not really, probably because your first comment I quoted above is patently false.

Pretty good assessment. I think Saban and Miles will go down in history as legends of the game ala Bo & Woody... Kinda neat to see 2 guys from that region bring a legendary status to the SEC

A little touchy today?

He consistently develops players beyond their ceiling
He does not consistently do this under any measurable. And you can't provide any evidence he consistently does this at all.
But I give you one JR to prove your fail.

"weather" is what would we call the tropical storm here in BR this weekend whether you realize it or not.
And hiring coaches to develop talent is relevant whether you realize it or not.
Another fail of yours...the fail co-defensive coordinators and Crowton for starters.

Les Miles looks like a mentally challenged person who happens to coach an elite SEC team. Nothing is elite nor special about Les Miles. Houston Nutt could win a championship with LSU so you do not have to be a world beater coach to be successful at LSU.

LSU doesn't win 10 games this season.

quote:Number one draft pick? This is the funniest shite i have read on here. At least when he was here he made his arse work. He was unbelievably productive at lsu, maybe one of the best qb's we have ever had. Apparently he can get even more out of our players then nfl coaches
But I give you one JR to prove your fail.

Malveto and mallory was given the benefit of the doubt coming under pelini, it did not work out and he gracefully let them pursue their career somewhere else.
we won a national championship under crowton

quote:god your unbelievably stupid. This is what i mean and You are proving my point. Texas, georgia, alabama, ohio state, usc, florida, miami, florida state all have equal or better talent then lsu. But just anyone can just come in and win a NC right? He has plenty of players that have steped up that had limited offers or were not ranked very high. He gets the most out of his players.

Nothing to do w/ Miles.
Now, do you want to list the underachievers here or not. There is a long list. Some currently playing.
You cannot say Miles consistently develops players at/above their ceiling unless you are ignorant and/or a homer.

No he wasn't. So much around him, so much fail in terms of team accomplishments. Hodson, Jones, Flynn, Mauck, Davey etc...better.
