expected that point to go above your head, but the effects of the injuries were very real and impossible for an objective person to deny.

How did it keep them from a NC run ? Did they play with 10 players on each side of the ball afterwards ? How did the replacement player perform ?

Over the length of Rev. Richt's career at ugay, only Duh U has put more players in the NFL. Now I don't know how these "operational issues" have been handicaping him because He has been recruiting at an elite level the whole time. Basically no one coach has done less with more than him over that time.

After the toughest schedule start to the season in the nation, We were ranked #6 thanks to our elite offense. There was a major drop off from our starters to our 3rd stringers.

Yep, this all checks out.

I know most SEC schools don't have to deal with Georgia Tech very often but this is why UGA fans can't stand them. They have the same number of probations as wins over UGA during this millennium, but to hear them talk Richt loses to them regularly.

I, as a Florida fan, think he is doing a great job and should be given a life time contract.

He beat UF 3 years in a row for the first time since the 80s. He also cost you a national title shot in '12 beating your undefeated and 2nd ranked team. The series is 4-4 the last 8 years.

Compared to how this series has gone since 1990, I would think you'd be a little less than ecstatic he's ours.

In Mark Richt's tenure, UGA has typically recruited between 5-10 in the country. That's very good, but not as good as Bama, LSU, USCw, OSU, FSU, etc. UGA's facilities, staff salaries, support staffs, etc lag behind those types of programs. That hurts recruiting. Until recently, Georgia didn't oversign. The combination of all those factors basically prevented Georgia from building elite depth. Some of that is on Richt. Some of it isn't.

That 2012 UGA team that lost to Bama had 67 scholarship players on it. That's a self-imposed 18 scholarship penalty. When Bama was running it down their throat the entire second half, they had no playable depth to sub. That kills you.

that's got to be an alter..either chris or one of those other losers or some other turd like ciye.

why would an actual tech fan (besides the ones that can't live without posting on the gsb) come to an SEC-centric message board and do nothing but talk about georgia?

seriously, me too. saban and meyer recruit at an elite level. Richt recruits at a really good level. If you bring in the 10th ranked class every year but 4 other schools in your conference bring in a top 6 class every year, you're not elite.

Umm..what's so funny? Had you beat us, you're undefeated and #2 going into the SECCG.

Do you honestly deny that?

Do you honestly think we would've beaten Alabama? After seeing what Louisville did to us?

read my post again, and rethink

If you hadn't lost to us, you'd be undefeated and playing in the SECCG. That was essentially a play-in game to the title game since the winner was guaranteed to go, therefore, that was a "national title shot". So yes, richt cost you a national title shot in 12.

I get his point -- you would have at least had a shot at getting to the NC game with a win over UGA because the SEC was going to win the NC that year regardless. But, yeah, you wouldn't have come close to beating Bama. I'm still not sure how the Louisville collapse happened, though. Your offense was mediocre, but your defense was top 5.

They lost to Clemson and had to go to OT against a 5-7 TN during that stretch. Most SEC teams can take a snapshot in time and play what ifs.
