lol at auburn fans saying that chiz exceeded expectations this year

7-5

Lost to LSU, Bama, UGA, Ark, and Clemson by a combined score of:

208-69

3/7 wins were against non-AQ/FCS teams

Record of teams they beat:
36-45

Only 1 win against a team currently in the top 25.

If that's exceeding expectations then...damn.

Yeah, I imagine you guys are thrilled to be going to a bowl game and all...

He is on his own next year and will sink or swim. I think it all falls apart, but who knows. He may grow into a decent coach. Outside of pulling out a couple of wins when they were outplayed, Auburn wasn't very impressive this year.

Before the season started, most people said a 7-5 finish for Auburn would be the best case scenario. Well, they were able to get there so he does deserves some credit. I'm curious to see how they play in the bowl game. What is the story on Virginia?

This could be coincidental, but look at ISU's record the last five years:

With Chiz:

5-19

Since:

18-19

The over/under in Vegas was 6.5 wins for Auburn preseason. Congratulations, you beat the line. The worst post NC season in history but you beat expectations. Well done Chiz.

chizek is a nice d2 coordinator. Lowder knew he could be a chump or 3 cheap. Malzahan fell in their lap after cash hit the streets.
chizek and malzahn have alley cat ethics. lowder has satan's ethics... can you get it now...

AU is Fugged..

Not so fast my friend.

USC 2004 #1 - 2005 record 0-1, 12 wins vacated, Alabama 1992 #1 - 1993 record 1–12, 8 wins forfeited, Michigan 1933 #1 -1934 record 1–7, Michigan 1918 #1 -1919 record 3–4, Ohio State 1942 #1 -1943 record 3-6, ND 1949 #1 - 1950 record 4-4-1, Alabama 1926 #1 -1927 record 5-4-1

I'll trust your research to be accurate so lets just say worst post NC season in modern CFB history. You can't include the USC 05' or Bama 93' because you can't compare with vacated wins. Only an idiot would do that. Those teams had very good results, USC 12-1, and Bama 10-3.

Gene's issues at AU have always involved defense. Defensive collapses directly led to 3 4th quarter losses in 09, and nearly a loss to Northwestern in the bowl game. As good as Fairley was last year, the defense in general sucked, luckily we had the offense to overcome it. This year the defense sucked as well and we didn't have an offense to help bail it out. I've always thought AU would have been a monster the past few years with Gus's offense and a top 10 top 20 defense. I've yet to see Gene put even an average defense on the field in his AU tenure. Hopefully that will get turned around next year.

Old rule was don't count a coach's first year against him. So Chizik is 1-1 against Saban, Myles, Richt and Petrino and 3-0 against Spurrier.

Chizik won a Nat'l Title in his second year. Enough freaking said. He gets good recruits - his program endured a full year attack by national media and an anal probe from the NCAA and came out lily freakin white. I would suggest - Chizik is pretty damn good. Not to mention he has the Updykes poisoning our tree's making video's about our coaches wives, creating internet sites and rumors and bank rolling Joe Schaad to put AU down as much as possible. Quoting Barkley - Alabama calling Auburn cheaters is like Snookie calling Halle Berry ugly. So if you base Chizik bad assness purely on Updyke uproar then I would rank him best Coach ever.

Well every Alabama fan will be quite happy if you keep Chizik as your coach.

Out of all of these guys and chizik, who has done the most in the shortest period of time. Not just including hc position?

Without Cam, Chizik is 15-10 at Auburn

Paul Rhodes has won at Iowa State with the about the same players Chizik had 5 wins with. Chizik, a defensive guy, has never had an Auburn D in the top 50 in 3 years. Cam was an aberration. Chizik is mediocre, and y'all are screwed for the time being.
