The SEC matches up well with any conference including the Big 12(10). Several games would be close no doubt but I would say the SEC would go something like 7-3 vs those Big 12 match-ups.

Yeah....Booms old employer should play us...they dont want any part of it. Kansas? Love to play them and hang 70 points on Cheeseburger Charlie.

The big 12 is just bad ... but I do think that OSU ends up higher in that conference than they are currently sitting and Texas moves down.

I hear the "better top to bottom" argument from my big 12 friends all the time and I just laugh. Who gives a f-ck about top to bottom when only the top teams will be playing in BCS games and vying for NCs?

To me the only truly fair comparison is the Top 10 against their Top 10. You simply can't remove the Top SEC teams nor could you remove the Top B12 teams. I guess you could go Top 8 teams from each to allow them to drop a couple but still the head to head is more legit.
The real reason the SEC dominates the matchups is simply defensive talent and sheer athletes. The Big 12 just doesn't have the top to bottom athletes the SEC does except at a few schools and the top tier can't compete. The Big 12 is also down this year and trending down. With A&M leaving and the SEC invading the Texas talent pool as well as cutting off Missouri the long term outlook is bleak. Specifically:
So in summary, only OSU/Tenn and MSU/Baylor are close games. The talent disparity is simply too great for the rest.

quote:
Alabama vs. Kansas State-Bama big, just way too much talent disparity.
LSU vs. West Virginia-Same result as last year, once again talent disparity is huge.
Georgia vs. Texas-May be closer but UGA wins handily. UGA has at least equal if not better top to bottom talent and Texas does less with more than anyone.
South Carolina vs. TCU-Once again USC has a big talent edge. TCU cannot stop a guy like Lattimore and they have no answer for USC's defense. Gimmicks and overachievers won't get it done.
Florida vs. Oklahoma-OU is down this year, the press just wasn't paying attention until last week. They don't have the talent they did a few years ago. UF OTOH has tons of talent and is going nowhere but up.
Miss State vs. Baylor-This one could be a bit more interesting. Both schools had a lot of trouble with their common opponent ULM. I'd bet on State because Baylor has no defense but State needs to come to play.
Tennessee vs. Oklahoma State-OSU is dangerous but they are down this year as well. Weeden and Blackmon are huge losses for OSU as well as much of their defense and in spite of their winning OSU's recruiting has been down the last few years. Tennessee is loaded talent wise. OSU does have a big coaching edge in this one though, Gundy is a smart MOFO.
Texas A&M vs. Texas Tech-Uh, yeah. This one is ugly. Tech sucks and may not have more than 2 players that could crack the Aggie 2 Deep.
Auburn vs. Iowa State- Auburn also simply out talents Iowa State by a mile. Unless they have turnovers all day this one is an easy W.
Mizzou vs. Kansas- I'd be surprised if this stayed within 30 points. KU sucks and Mizzou loves to beat the crap out of the Jayhawks.
So in summary, only OSU/Tenn and MSU/Baylor are close games. The talent disparity is simply too great for the rest.

OU is a little down sure...but are they a clear underdog to florida? I doubt it.
I gave tech the edge because of their stats so far, granted they havent played anyone worth a crap and the same can be said for A&m except for their loss to UF...yea i dont know much about the Tech/A&m series
Oh and AU fricking sucks..that game is a tossup

OU/UF would be a pretty good game I think. I'd give UF the edge though, especially if it was in Gainesville since OU has struggled mightily on the road lately. I also think the UF defense would give Landry Jones fits.
We beat Tech in a game that was too close last year but destroyed them the 2 years before that. They're probably closer to Arkansas right now if I was to guess, really hard to tell from the shitty teams they've faced so far.

After watching them play Ole Miss, I would have to agree.
