My ole miss friends are by far the most racist people I've ever met. Sure msu has some, but I can't say I know an ole miss fan that I know who is for sure not a racist. It's disgusting really. I don't know what they're telling these young black kids to get them there but they are definitely the "rented mule" so to speak in Oxford.

It just depends on where you was born...the southern part of Mississippi is more MSU and the northern is more ole miss...southern miss and msu usually have the same fans because southern miss is not really considered big time college football.

Aside from actually attending the school bc your family did, I'd say that redneck type people that don't end up going to college usually end up fans of MSU.

I don't really understand the whole Ag School vs Liberal Arts School dichotomy that many other states have going on.
Arkansas is land grant, but the leadership emphasized liberal arts, law, and other aspects early on, and actually took the focus off of agriculture programs. It never had that "Ag school" designation. Those programs existed, and they still exist, along with engineering and all that other stuff.
But you can go to Arkansas intending to be a lawyer or a doctor, or major in food chemistry or engineering.
The farmers vs lawyers thing is interesting.

So Mississippi State is meh at sports and Ole Miss is what at sports? Better? They made the NCAA tourney with a coke head crazy white boy for the first time in what a decade? They beat us to go to a bowl game and finished 7-6. They went to a regional in baseball. We had our worst basketball team since the Bob Boyd days but still managed to beat their best team in a decade. We finished 8-5 in football. We played for but lost the NCAA college World Series. So my question is how does one grow up in MS and become an arrogant snobby arse think they are better than you Rebel?
