We may have a genuine rivalry on our hands here. Could Arkansas-LSU be the new Tenn-Fla?

They're on par with Auburn, maybe a little below them. I would rank them as the seventh best program in the SEC after Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Florida and Auburn.

LSU had 6 bad years of football and then another 2 in '98 and '99. People comically think we became nothing until Saban arrived. Did we get better? Hell yeah we did and it obviously isn't over. You were just bragging about a ten win season and well, we just had one. It's not by accident.

We played in Atlanta before LSU. Didn't win but did get there six years before LSU.

LSU was nothing to fear from 1974-2000 really. A good season here or there with the occasional upset making your season. A few bad coaching hires, then one good one got you back on track.

Two in the past ten years. Yeah, that's pretty damn good and the last was just 4 seasons ago. My guess is that you are a junior and don't know history past last season.
There is a clear hierarchy in the SEC, and Arkansas isn't in the top tier.

The fact that you have to create this thread shows how insecure yall are about Arkansas becoming a perennial power to be dealt with. Yall are having to latch on to to past history b/c you know the future is looking bright for Arkansas.
Arkansas was the best non cheating team in the SEC this year. We lose only a few key players, but will easily reload and be back in the hunt next season. A Bobby Petrino SEC squad in his 4th season is going to be a thing of beauty.
Auburn had a great run this year, but lets face it, they are not in a position to continue their dominance unless Cam comes back. They will be solid next season, but after they lose Gus to a HC job, it's downhill from there.
In Petrino's first 3 seasons after taking over from Houston Nutt, he is 2-1 against Les Miles in his 4th-6th seasons after he took over from Saban. With that being the case, there's little reason to believe Petrino doesn't have the upper hand in this matchup.
When we get our more diverse offense going with Wilson, Mitchell, Walker, and Allen (our future, more mobile QB's), Bama will no longer be able to tee off and blitz their way into wins against us like they could against Mallett. They will get torn up just like every other team that dares to try to slow us down.
Florida just hired a guy with no head coaching experience. They will be good, but how good is a mystery. Tennessee will be improving, but they are still a few years away from competing again for the SEC.
Richt is on his farewell tour at Georgia. And Spurrier has gotten his arse handed to him the past two years against Petrino.
Do I need to even talk about the Ippies, Tuckies, and Vandies?

contenders or pretenders? the sugar bowl decided that. The only reason anyone mentions arkansas on this board isn't because of their football team, it's because of their arrogant fans. No one cares about the football team but the fans are unrealistic and delusional. I had nothing against arky until their fans came on this site and started hailing their team like they just won the superbowl....da frick?

Funny, this is exactly what programs like Texas A&M said about LSU in the 80's and 90's, just before they made your asses quit. Then, strangely LSU became somewhat relevant again. Big wins. Trophies.

What have you done lately to warrant any type of respect from us? Not a damn thing.
You have not been to a BCS game since. Have not sniffed a conference title game and averaged nearly 4 losses a season since. If you lose your bowl game, you will average exactly 4 losses per season since.

You have completely avoided answering the question. Before you denigrate anyone's knowledge you better know what you are talking about. You brought up conference titles before expansion. For the record Arkansas won 13 SWC titles. According to you list prior to 2000 LSU won 7 SEC titles.
