This year's version of Harbaugh might be equal to Kirby. If you look at the entire body of work, Kirby is waay more consistent and therefore, the better coach.
Harbaugh is one of the most overrated coaches in college football. He struggles to win his own division....ever. Not in the NFL. Not at Stanford. Not at Michigan...until this year. Maybe he is getting the hang of coaching on the college level?
I mean, he's only been coaching college football for 14 years.

Georgia can make the talent gap apparent if they choose/if the coaches allow the team to. I think Michigan is a very good team but Georgia is a bad matchup for them.
I actually think Cincy would be tougher for Georgia than Michigan, and Michigan would be tougher than Cincy for Bama because of how the matchups shake out.

I just want to get this straight in my mind.
You think the coach that has never won his own division (before this year) while coaching in the PAC 12 and B1G is better than the coach that has won the SEC once and coached his team to the playoffs twice is better?
Keep this in mind, DoggyLife...Michigan resides in the TOUGHEST football conference & the TOUGHEST football division in all of the NCAA. Put the Elephants & the pUGs in the Big10 East Division and they both get 2-3 losses YEARLY!
I'm serious, the Big10 East is a gauntlet filled with landmines every fu**ing week. It's like being in the AFC North...Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn St., Maryland, Rutgers, Indiana, it's brutal every week!
Throw in the Big10 West Division and our crossover games, and it's just plain nasty all season! Tough to win the Big Ten...REAL TOUGH! You coach in the Big10 and see how many games you win!

Kicked Kirby's arse last year. Would have won multiple National Titles with Georgia's roster.

Bobby Ross
A nice reminder that Tech has a more recent Natty than Georgia.

UGA should win as long as they aren't shell shocked by the SECCG.
Not gonna lie. I think we should win, but I am still nervous about the game.

But Michigan has really improved throughout the year.

He actually plays in a division with competitive teams, but as a Georgia fan I get that you don't know what that is like.
Their division has 2 top 10 teams currently and Mich St is right there on the fringe at 11 and you could easily argue them ahead of a few teams in the top 10 if you wanted to.

Michigan keeps it closes but loses in the end by a FG.

Has his best team ever and gets a down UGA and still loses 4 games but yeah, he'd have multiple national championships.

Yeah, Mullen was brilliant. Florida should have kept him.

He had very undisciplined teams that cost him at critical times. (Shoe throw)
He made poor calls at critical times. (4th and whatever 3 years ago and then continuing to throw the ball with time running out at the half costing Florida an additional 14+ points)

What has that got to do with Bobby Ross being a big game coach.
Are you honestly going to stick by your comment that Bobby Ross, Gene Chizik etc are "big game coaches!"?
You want to argue for Dan Mullen? Why did Florida fire him? (The right move, by the way) Stop letting your disdain for Georgia color your opinions and be honest.

The B1G and PAC 12. At least we won the SEC (No competitive teams?) and have been to the playoffs out of the SEC?
quote:One of those teams lost 2 games and the other spanked them. And you are seriously going to add one of those two top 10 teams as the one we are talking about. You know they don't play themselves in order to win their division or make it to the playoffs, right? So they had two teams. One they beat (pretty easily admittedly) and one beat them.

Michigan knows exactly what Georgia will do, just as if they were game planning against LSU. this gives them a distinct advantage. While MIchigan will be MIchigan, they will also game plan to attack Georgia's defense.
i give the edge to Michigan just because of coaching. i have no faith at all in the Kirbs.

Florida fans crack me up sometimes.
How about this-- Steve Spurrier was in Gainesville for 12 seasons and won only one national title. One. He had all that talent and yet won the same number of national championships as Bobby Ross.
Talk about underachieving.

Probably why the B1G has won so many National Championships, right? Or has at least gotten two teams in the playoffs on a couple of ocassions.

Yeah. Indiana, Rutgers and Maryland are real landmines. "Every week."
I'll give you Ohio State and Michigan State. Excellent teams, no doubt.
Let's take a look at those tough crossover games, shall we?
Wisconsin: 8-4 Not bad
Northwester: 3-9
Nebraska: 3-9

Look. I wasn't taking a shot (necessarily) at Michigan, so much as at Harbaugh being a better coach than Kirby Smart. And don't forget I also mentioned that Harbaugh did not win his division while at Stanford in the PAC 12.
quote:I'd coach for a year just to make Harbaugh's salary, but I probably wouldn't win any games. But I'm not a coach, either.
You coach in the Big10 and see how many games you win!
Outside of this year the B1G has been Ohio State, period. I think it will be a good game, and, as I said...I am nervous about this game. I actually do think Michigan can win it.

I know you are only taking a dig at them since they are taking digs at Kirby....but I would take Spurrier all day long.

Yep. I actually love SOS. He had a spell on Georgia just like Saban does now.

Spurrier never bothered me with his jabs. I thought it was a schtick and funny. His dominating us on the field, on the other hand!
