We all know that alabama fans, like no other fan base on earth, define who they are as a person based on how their school's football team is doing. I'm just curious what life was like out there as bama was wandering the wilderness. I'm sure it must have been ugly.

Most weren't bama fans. They chose whatever school was winning

They spent those years fapping over the ugly arse twins that went to UAB.

I bet it sucked to watch the Auburn fanbase shrink by a third.

they took bigger risks since their coach wasn't competent at recruiting.

Nope, always a Bama fan. Survived it by trying my best to ignore the Shula years for the most part, knowing one day the sun would come up again.
Unlike you I did have MANY good years to remember.

The stadium stayed packed and every single home game was sold out during the dark years

Enjoyed watching my team every chance I got. Watched a lot of USC at the time because of how powerful they were. Watched AU slap a few teams around. Saw UF trip only to catch themselves. I don't know watched football.

Sad but it's probably true. Probably closer to 1/5 but still

I'll take losing shitty fans over gaining them any day.

Strictly the fans...i like the wins that bring the shitty fans. Maybe when we start winning again all the fans will be hipsters who hate on things that win and they won't jump back on.

Diddy - calling Shula a coach is like calling Harvey a tree hugger.
