Lol @ anyone comparing newton to tebow. Let's compare dyer to Bo Jackson while were at it.....oh wait, auburn fans are doing that also. Silly cow people

Yes...people are comparing bo's freshman season to dyers...only because of the similarity on productivity. Much like people are comaring newton's season to tebow's finest season.

If this upsets you then message boards probably aren't the place for you.

Silly swamp trash.

I mean its really subjective bc they were two pretty different styles of qb. Tebow was a pass first qb who was great in short yardage. Newton is a true dual threat and is much more similar in style of play to vince young. I think both young and newton are better than tebow just bc that style of quarterbacking is more dominant in my opinion. Or maybe it's bc i got so annoyed whenever tebow would make a 3 yard run and break one tackle and people acted like he was emmitt smith

Cam has zero touch... how many times has he thrown over the middle. My 12 year old brother could throw the ball up as far as he can and pray someone catches it.

Tebow had four years in the same system, surrounded by better players, so comparing all these accomplishments and awards is stupid. If you want to talk about who is better, look at it like this:

-Cam is bigger
-Cam is stronger
-Cam is faster
-Cam is an equal or better passer
-Cam is a better runner
-Cam is undefeated

Saying Cam is better doesn't seem so far-fetched to me.

Cam is definitely not stronger, and is nowhere near the passer Tebow is. Cam is also blacker, so it would be easier to compare him to V. Young, who by the way, sucks.

I might disagree about the passer part. The issue here seems to be that we all heard "tebow is a once in a life time type talent" and here we are one year later with a player that is as good if not better. It's upset flordia fans because no one is bowing at the tebow alter and have moved on.

The debates are worth while and enjoyable, but there are a couple of the gator fans out there that will take it their grave that there is no chance newton is as good if not better than tebow.

Tebow's throwing motion was god-awful and yet he was still effective. It basically comes down to this: Newton might only be 70% the passer tebow is but tebow is maybe 50% the runnner Newton is. All you need with is running abililty is enough of an arm to keep teams honest and he has a more than good enough arm for that. Tebow was a great quarterback obviously but i don't think he could carry a team like 2010 auburn to a national title. And if newton does that he's a clear number one to me

I'll take Cam Newton over Tim Tebow every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Exactly what I was about to type out. This is coming from someone neutral that doesn't have a "dawg" in the fight so to speak. Cam may very well lead Auburn to an undefeated season which Tebow could never do for Florida. And Cam could very well not rack up the amount of rewards Tebow did for several reasons. I won't go into that. It really sucks for Florida fans right now, Cam could be doing all this for UF.

this is clearly an east vs. west thing... west wants to say they lost to auburn because Cam Newton is so awesome and he is the only thing Auburn has. Let's get real. Auburn this year, doesn't beat any of Florida's national championship teams.

This is newton's first year starting how the hell was he supposed to rack up hardware and stats? Look if you wanna say that based on watching both players you think tebow is better go for it. I'll disagree but at least i'll respect your opinion. Don't throw out hardware and career stats unless you want to count newton's junior college stats. they're irrelevant to this discussion

Really? Because we beat your 2006 national title team and Ole Miss beat your 2008 team.

You don't want to get into undefeated season talk with us, gaytor. We're better at being perfect and you guys are better at getting the media nod.

Actually i think 06 florida vs 10 auburn would be a good game. But it doesn't matter you're arguing our point. If florida won it wouldn't be bc tebow is better than newton it'd be bc florida's team is better than auburns team. And vince young is way better than tebow

2 National Championships and a Heisman Trophy, runner up twice....

Eric Crouch and Gino Torretta won Heismans, Jay Barker and Greg McElroy won national championships. If Tebow is Auburn's QB right now we probably have at least two losses. Tebow will have a better career because he was in the same place for four years and had great talent all over the field with him. Cam is the better player though and it's not all that close.
