How bad would a beatdown hurt the Hog psyche?

A Hog win would suck, but wouldn't destroy Bama's goals for the season.
However, it seems that this may be the game of the decade for the Hogs and their fans.
If Bama rolls them hard, what happens to the Hogs and their callers the rest of the season?

Not much. We have the bye week coming up and Petrino does a good job of keeping everyone level-headed win or lose.

Bama is going to win this game. Bama is going to hit Mallet, and he'll go in to his usual tantrum.

A Bama loss would hurt Bama fans more in my opinion.

It might. If we lose to them we probably won't be able to win the West.

We would probably recover pretty quickly considering we'd still be top 10 and have all pre-season goals still available.
Plus...it would probably light a fire under the team.

Going undefeated isn't a goal?

One thing that I have to say for the Hogs. They didn't wimp out, and schedule the week off before Bama like 6 others did. They're taking us heads on, win or lose. The Hogs have guts, where some others don't.

All joking aside etc. I like Arky you guys are definitely coming up. I know you ate pumped for this game Saturday. Don't blame you...We have too many ways,to beat you guys Mc Elroy has already proven himself to even our worst critics...the Kid is cool under pressure. Between Ingram..Richardson...Lacy then Maze...Dial....etc you ain't' gonna win...but I think your going to give us all we can stand....this is where we will step up you'll see it..

SEC Champs & BCS.
The Hogs were too close to losing to UGA to have a real shot at the west. They may play out of their minds and beat Bama, but the hogs will lose at least 2 SEC games.
If Bama makes it through with 1 SEC loss, they will be going to Atlanta...belie dat.

In my opinion, a Hog win destroys Bama's season. I think the only way Bama makes it back to the national title game to defend the title is by being undefeated.
I think there will be at least 4 undefeated teams at year's end...Ohio State, Oregon, Boise State and TCU...Texas or Oklahoma or Nebraska could also be undefeated.
An undefeated SEC team is a lock for the BCS title game. Anything shy of that and you are going to the Sugar Bowl this year as the SEC Champ.
Sidenote: Even with a Bama loss this weekend (which ain't gonna happen), they will still win the West in my opinion.

There are too many teams that could easily go undefeated this year to lose a game IMO. Losing away from home this early in the season helps, but I just don't see any losses for OSU, Oregon, and the Big 12 winner right now.

It's way too early to try to be picking how many teams will finished unbeaten. I think the odds are a 1-loss SEC champ makes it in.
