Kyle Field going to be much louder next year. South end zone will be closed in and crowd will be closer to field.

What is that angled portion of the MSU stadium expansion? That looks dumb.

It's angled to face the road..

Yeah its kinda weird. Seemed like maybe they could have kept it in line with the stadium and rerouted the road. But dont know.

From the Rant:
Outside view of the SEZ expansion as it will look for the first home game of 2014. Word is LSU paid extra to speed up the work, as it was behind schedule due to inclement weather, mainly.

On Monday, Nov. 11, demolition around the stadium will consist of the Netum Steed facility and the south end zone video board, as well as the east side ramps and the first deck on the east side. Demolition work on the north end zone façade will also begin at this time, followed by the Monday, Nov. 25 demolition of the playing field.
The east side of Kyle Field as well as the south end zone complex is expected to be complete in time for the start of the 2014 football season.
With a budget of $450 million, Kyle Field’s final capacity will be 102,500 upon completion of the redevelopment project in time for the 2015 season.

It was either do that or accept the very real chance the expansion wouldn't be ready for the September 6th home game vs Sam Houston State. LSU apparently chose to be safe rather than sorry.
This is all hearsay, but I remember thinking the project was dragging for the longest time, and then the pace seemed to accelerate towards the end of last year. Which is why I believe it.

im still not following why lsu would have to pay extra for a contractor getting behind schedule.

Do any msu posters have pics? Isn't South Carolina doing some renovating as well?
We're a little behind ...
1 - New indoor practice facility is behind schedule, although the new practice fields adjacent to the indoor facility appears to be on track to be open in time.
2 - Phase three of the stadium beautification project is behind schedule - the one immediately around the stadium.
We've got so many things going-on in an effort to makes ours the best ... it'll be going-on forever, we'll never be satisfied.

The entire expansion will be completed by the first game of the season.
