if he did not play this year and came back in 2013, would have two more years of eligibility?

I know about medical redshirts. Is there a dumbass redshirt as well?

The problem is, apparently the compliance officer is saying one thing, and Herb Vincent is saying another. Someone needs to get on the same page.

Mathieu needs to take a long look in the mirror and do some soul searching. He needs to get his priorities straight. If he wishes to stay at LSU he should be able to take classes toward his degree. He should also be able to prove himself worthy of another shot to play for the football team. If he can "walk the line" set forth by the Athletic Department and adhere to their strict and clear guidelines--such as frequent and random drug tests, gpa requirements, counseling etc. he should have the opportunity to play for the team again after sitting out for an entire year, imo.

Great post and I agree with everything you said.

It's nice to hear that someone outside of LSU fans feel this way.

Have they said one way or the other, is he going to be able to stay in school?

From what I understand, he can stay in school. He was not kicked out of LSU, only dismissed from the football team.

They will not comment on his future football eligibility though.

Yes, Per Herb Vincent:

Herb Vincent?@LSUherbvin To clarify: Tyrann Mathieu has the option to go to LSU as a student. LSU is not speculating on his football future.

bama might be getting a new beat writer after what glen guilblow just did calling out les and herb on sportscenter.

also reports that either LSU or tm7 family denied southern and jackson state permission to talk to tm7.

Some guy named Bo Bahnsen (LSU) is quoted in our paper that Honey Badger is permanently ineligible to play at LSU.

bo is wrong and was misquoted on purpose by glen guilbow.

other papers dont realize guilblow is a hackish bitch that doesn't quote people correctly and he does the shite on purpose.

He also accused tm7 of trying to blackmail LSU into letting him back by threatening to go to bama.

herb vincent is above bo on the food chain and says tm7 can go to LSU and we wont speculate on the football side at this time. (leaving the door open for his return)

LSU denied Southern the chance to talk to him, according to Southern's coach on the 6:00 news.

I'm the one that posted that GG tweet on the TR. I hope LSU cuts all ties with that POS trolling bastard. He is worse than Finescum for talking trash to try to get attention.

I don't see how he'll be able to sit out and watch for a year all while not going to NFL. With Sportcenter continues to replay his 2011/12 highlights...almost forgot how much talent is there. What an athlete!?

he just called his source he misquoted, les miles and herb vincent all liars on sportscenter.

if LSU doesn't black list him after today im not sure what he has to do to be blacklisted.

the question is when did LSU deny southern? if it was today then id say tm7 is most likely coming back. if it was friday then they were trying to get him in the best structure for him

I think he needed this year to show maturity in his personality and playmaking to be a legitimate draft stock. He won't get that sitting out a year and I doubt he gets that at Mcneese St. I just don't see him getting drafted high enough for it to matter at the end of this year, IMO.

The Southern coach didn't say when they denied them, that I recall. I just saw the interview with him and he said that LSU said they couldn't talk to him.

some are saying possible eligibility issue but if it was that then he wouldn't be able to go to mcneese. He would have to go to naia, so i dont think thats it unless it just popped up today.
